Review: Templar Construction began a remodel project that was to include my kitchen, living room, master bedroom and master bathroom. After meeting with the owners of the company it was agreed upon that the project would be completed for $30,000.00 with labor and materials included in that price. The homeowner is to purchase materials out of the budget since he was to receive a military discount at stores. I was told that the way they (the company) would be able to cut costs would be for them to hire labor ready employees, which I did not have a problem with, however; immediately after the project began delays began to occur. The project began in June and many days would go by without any work being done by the contractor. Instead, I, the homeowner began to assist to help move the job along. I contacted the contractors to discuss the issues and set up a meeting in which my calls were ignored. When I demanded a to be seen I was asked to come into the office for a 9 am meeting in which I did not receive. I was told that they would contact me later as he (the contractor) had other meetings to attend. Electrical wires were left exposed for many weeks before the homeowner sought out an electrician to complete the work. To date, I, the homeowner has installed the hardwood floor, the cabinets, the tile backsplashes, doors, installed the kitchen island and has painted rooms and the project is still incomplete. The master bedroom and master bathroom are still unfinished and we still do not have plumbing there.Desired Settlement: The project was not only unfinished but also $4,000.00 over budget. I am seeking the $4000.00 over budget amount.
