This is the worst company I have ever dealt with. I would never wish the experience I had with this company on anyone! As a merchant, we had to deal with a check discrepancy that was processed by Telecheck. At first, they told us there was nothing they could do and we would have to contact our bank. We did exactly that. Then, Telecheck processed a partial refund to customer (since they were overcharged) and consumer ended up with double the amount they were supposed to received in refund - thousands of dollars not hundreds! For 3 weeks, I had to call in and speak with a representative overseas and each time I was told something different. I was eventually communicating with a representative in the USA and she went on vacation for a week - did not bother informing me or anyone else for that matter about what we had discussed. The icing on the cake was them issuing a debt collection to my client when it was not the consumer's fault. Our client was so furious they appointed a lawyer and threatened to sue First Data, Telecheck, and TRS. They have several branches under First Data and each of them are just as equally frustrating to deal with. When everything was finally resolved after weeks of dealing with their incompetency, we received our money back BUT not after they had deducted fees. We paid fees for their incompetency. Unbelievable. I was so astounded that a company could get away with treating their customers like this so I am hoping that by writing this review it will be a warning to other merchants. A company like First Data should stand by its consumers and reprimand employees for incompetency rather than make it seem like the merchant's fault. The company has run into class action lawsuits and even investigation by the ***. I advise everyone to stay away as far as possible. You will have to deal with this company one way or another if you are using their services and I can guarantee it will not be pleasant. I lost over 20 hours of what could have been productivity for my business. My client also had to deal with this, taking days off work to make sure Telecheck did not steal another dime from their bank account. Melissa *** and Ruben *** made this experience 10x worse and did nothing to help us as a merchant. Everytime I called in someone said they already had "notes" on what was going on and proceeded to be rude. This was in no part our fault and Telecheck still charged us for the error they made. We were charged over $100 and that does not include the hours lost trying to resolve the issue. It is an international company with few clients - I wish I would have done research on Telecheck prior to using their services.

I'm not submitting a complaint, because it seems like enough people have complained about the exact same thing that I would have. However, I will just add that when I called the company to understand why my check was canceled, the customer service person with whom I spoke refused to transfer me to a supervisor, citing technical difficulties, until I insisted, at which point there were suddenly no more "technical difficulties." Furthermore, if this is such a common problem for the company, then they need to come up with a better way to verify themselves to a consumer before requiring all of your personal information. Luckily I was put on hold long enough to get on my computer and look up the company on the Revdex.com website and see that this was typical of doing business with them.

Check denied due to code 2. Too many checks written in a small time frame. Who the heck are they to tell me I am writing too many checks? Took over 15 minutes to speak to a person at the number on the denial slip, they said I should have called from the store and held up the line for 15 minutes. They should communicate the reason of denial immediately on the denial slip and advice the cashier to carefully verify my ID.
