Dear Revdex.comMs *** purchased a Buick from Team Automotive in April of 2017. Around the end of August 2017, she had the vehicle towed into our shop. Her complaint was that the steering had "locked up". Her exact description was when she turned the steering wheel completely to the right, the steering wheel locked and would not respond. She was able to back the vehicle into a parking space. Then the steering wheel would move freely, but the wheels would not respond. The tow truck operator that delivered the vehicle to us noticed that the steering was working normally, and expressed this to Ms ***. Once the vehicle was delivered to us, each steering component was inspected.by myself and another technician. We could not duplicate the symptoms that Ms. described. Over the next two business days, we spent well over 10 hours checking and test driving the vehicle. Everything operated properly. We could find no issues relating the the steering system that could cause the problem that Ms. described. The only issues present related to worn steering linkages that Ms *** was aware of and had received an estimate to repair. She declined the work.Ms *** was not billed for the inspection and diagnostic time spent on her vehicle.Around the end of October, she complained that her steering had failed again. She asked if she could trade in the Buick on another vehicle, and chose a Dodge Journey. We agreed. Around two weeks later, she brought the vehicle in stating it would constantly stall when stopping. So, with Ms. present, I tried to cause the vehicle to stall by following her instructions. The Dodge did not stall. It operated normally.Several days later, she became completely dissatisfied with the Dodge. She opted to take back her original vehicle and cancel the sale of the second vehicle.
