TC Carter Company began my job 3/2014; failed to complete work agreed on & walked off the job the first week of 8/2014. Left me with $10300 debt. I entered into a contract in March 2014 with [redacted] of TC Carter Co which involved the repair of water damage to my home & additional work I wanted to have done, which was the renovation of 2 bathrooms; the interior painting of my home plus a few minor miscellaneous items. He was given $6000.00 up front to begin the work which he started in mid March 2014. Things were OK for a while & then my project was "on-again" /"off-again". [redacted] persuaded me to use his finance company to finance the remainder of the cost of the renovation to the tune of $10,300.00 by telling me "I cannot finish your job until I get MY MONEY from the finance company". Within a week of [redacted] receiving HIS MONEY - HE WAS GONE! My guest bathroom remained unfinished, the paint job in my house is awful and the walls in my home have "nap fuzz" on them from using cheap paint rollers; I am still dealing with dry-wall dust in my bathroom closets because his sub-contractors failed to "seal" them (as I was told they would do) before tearing out the tile in those rooms. The blinds in all my rooms have paint flecks on the slats because he failed to protect them while painting. He painted my guest bathroom the wrong color although he had a paint chart to go by. The shower heads in both bathrooms fail to operate properly due to improper installation. He damaged my walls while removing his equipment and failed to repair the damage. There is approximately $1500.00 of work in his estimate which is included in the FINANCED agreement which DID NOT get done. He installed a combination lock-box on my front porch banister that cannot be removed without having the combination, which I have been unable to obtain due to his not answering his phone. It is now February 2015 and my house still remains unfinished and [redacted] or his office is not responding to phone calls.Desired SettlementI request reimbursement of $1500.00 which is in the "FINANCED" agreement which [redacted] did not provide. I also request $35.00 for a pocketbook his subs destroyed by spray painting it; I also request $40.00 due to his subs breaking 2 heating/air floor registers which I had to replace. Plus I request the combination to the lock box so that I can remove it. I request an additional $200.00 which I had to pay to have locks in my home replaced due to his lock-box on my front porch and his WALKING OFF THE JOB! (there was/is no way [redacted] is to come close to my home again.
