Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
In response to Mr. Tam's excuses for not completing our AC and Furnace installation to our satisfaction, we do not agree with his answers. First of all, even if the system were to be a 15 SEER system, the unit he initially brought clearly stated 14-14.5 SEER on the box. So, when he indicated that he "upgraded" at his own expense, he only provided what he himself agreed to. A customer shouldn't have to check on their own to be sure that the system provided is the system agreed to. Mr. Tam indicated that the project was delayed due to waiting on a permit. We did not allow Mr. Tam to start until we had a permit as required in any new HVAC install. We are not referring to any delay Mr. Tam wants to assign to waiting on a permit. We are saying that, after the work was begun (with a permit in place), Mr. Tam's company did not provide a timely installation. Mr. Tam also indicated that he was delayed due to waiting on a new gas line to be run. Not true. The furnace was hooked up to the existing gas line already in place prior to the start on installation. Mr. Tam also provided a warranty to the system and did not show up to fix the system. He did make several appointments, but did not keep them. Instead, he only provided a new condenser pan which had to be picked up on our contractor's time and expense. In effect, Mr. Tam passed the warranty responsibility on to us. Mr. Tam also indicated that the customer kept running the AC even though they (we) knew it was leaking. First of all, how would he know that. Secondly, we only knew that the system was defective because of the water leak showing up on our ceilings. When we were aware of the leak, we did stop using our AC.
