Review: Was referred to Tamer for a specific patented type of treatment called Active Release Technique (A.R.T http://www.activerelease.com/). When I scheduled, I told him the treatment I wanted. He said "sure" and told me all about what to expect with it. After a few sessions, things started to seem wrong to me. He was giving my exercises contra indicated for my condition (the one I was having him work with), then was asking for information from me about the condition (indicating he seemed not to have the training I assumed). I started to question his training. I contact the agency that certifies people in it. They said he was not certified and wanted his info because what he was doing violates their program. I realized I had been paying for treatment he was not trained in - and yet he took my money for it! Asked for a refund. He refused, saying that although he's not certified what he does is 'the same thing'. If he's isn't trained/certified, how can HE decide that? And how is the cosumer to know or be protected? He then went on to say massage therapist don't need this certification, only chiropractors. This was more lies and contrary to what the certification agency told me. This person is unethical and I want to be sure no one else gets ripped off like me.How in this situation would the consumer have been protected? He says he's giving a service he isn't even trained in. Consumer doesn't know but pays anyway. He's taking advantage of people and charging for something he doesn't know. This happend over several weeks. I do not have exact dates (as your form requests) but it started early feb (I made 2 payments) and I discontinued my interactions with him early April .Desired Settlement: I would like my money back. It's unethical to take payment for services you are not qualified to provide.
