Talk America did all they could to prevent us from taking our land line number to *** We've had the phone number for over years and it is the published number for our small business! The holiday weekend delayed things at first, but then I called Talk America to move the process along and see what we would need to do for as far as settling the final bill The gal put in an order to close the account *** had issues porting the number over for reasons given them by Talk America: the number was not in service (which was inaccurate because I continued to receive calls for more weeks), there was an outstanding order on the account (an order to close the account, which had not been completed) I called more times to reverse the order to close with Talk America each time being told it would take hours to submit and comply I was told I would be contacted with the results (never contacted) When I called this morning, they said there is no record of me having any conversation beyond the initial contact where the order to close was placed I was told this morning that with 100% certainty I have lost the phone number forever How will our customers contact us? And of what value is my phone number to someone else?
