Tahoe Specialty Flooring & Window Design

Please BEWARE working with this company. Both myself and my in-laws have had terrible experiences with Tahoe Specialty. My in-laws, long time home owners in Ward Valley, purchased carpet from Tahoe Specialty and a few weeks later my wife and I purchased area rugs. We had multiple issues with both purchases. In each instance Tahoe Specialty was unresponsive to multiple phone calls and emails. When contact was made employees were rude and the service was terrible. I have a long paper trail that I'm happy to provide via follow up email at [redacted] but the short summary is that Tahoe Specialty took over 5 months to deliver on a simple rug order. Twice the wrong carpet was delivered and Tahoe Specialty missed delivery dates and created huge headaches for renters. Despite charging our credit card for the full purchase price (in excess of $3,000) within 30 days of our order it took 5 months and countless phone calls and emails to get the correct area rugs. Never once did we get one "I'm sorry- we will make this right"
My in-laws were MORE unfortunate in that Tahoe Specialty over charged their credit card by approximately $2,000. I recommended filing fraud charges in small claims court but my in-laws (some of the kindest people in the world from Berkeley CA) wrote, called and emailed thinking a local company would eventually do the right thing. After over 6 months they received a curt reply from Tahoe Specialty that all but said "tough luck... your problem not ours".
I am so disappointed to write a review like this but if it saves one person from the heart ache of dealing with this company then it was time well spent. If you're considering doing business with this company and have questions email me- I am happy to provide more detail-
