I am responding to complaint #*** involving our company, TBT Towing and Ms*** ***I apologize for the delay in response to the complaint, but I was planning and attending my daughter’s funeral on the east coast Our company is a sub-contractor with Lincoln Towing which has the
towing contract for the City of Seattle. We were called in our role as a sub-contractor to tow Mrs***’s carLincoln Towing sets the towing rates and we have no role in developing themShe was quoted the price of $plus taxThe tax sales tax rate results in the total of $ Most customers want the car to a tower’s lot for a basic economic factorIf the car is towed to someone’s home or body shop then the customer must pay the total charges for towing out of pocket and then eventually get reimbursed from their insurerIf the car is towed to an impound lot, the insurance company sends out a claims adjuster and then determines whether the car is fixable or if it is a total lossIn this case, the insurance company pays for the towing and storage charges and the customer has no out of pocket costsRegarding the costs, we make the same amount of money whether the car is towed to a person’s home, tow lot or repair shopIn accident situations we do everything possible to make the process as smoothly as possible and have the customer pay little or nothing out of pocket The dispatcher who spoke with the customer was not an employee of TBT Towing but worked for Lincoln TowingI have passed on the information to their management so that they can address the issue Please contact us if you need additional information or have additional questions
