We have looked through the complaint from Mr*** and found discrepancies with the claims that are being madeThe claim is that Synergy installed a higher horse power motor than what came with the unit originallyThe claim is
also that by doing this it caused the compressor to go out
Let's start with the claim that Synergy installed a greater horse power motorI have attached a form that covers every OEM part that came with that particular unitIf you look in the first line it covers the blower motor that came with the unitYou'll notice that the original motor was in fact a
1/HP, RPM, Speed, 115V, single phase, hertz motor
We installed a Resuce EcoTech ECM Direct Drive High Efficiency Motor the specs are:
1/2- 1/HP, RPM, Variable Speed, 115V, single phase, hertz motor
As you can see the horse power of our motor is the same as the original motor that was removed from the customers unitAs well as the RPM voltage, phase and hertzThe differences are that our motor can be installed in a 1/HP or a 1/HP applicationSo if in fact the contractor or customer wanted less airflow than what came from the original motor the motor Synergy installed could accommodate thatInstead the contractor recommended that they install the OEM motor back or a smaller HP motorIf the contractor would have looked up the specs on the motor Synergy installed than he would have found that it was capable of covering both of those options
The claim that the compressor failed due to excessive airflow is in no way accurate or possibleA ton air conditioner should be pulling at bare minimum cubic feet per minute of airflow through the evaporative coilMost older units due to instillation standards at the time don't come close to hitting this minimum air flowAccording to the California energy commission the standard clearly states that an installed unit must be meet or exceed CFM per ton ((150.0(m)13B))Because our humidity is low compared to other parts of the country it is encouraged to exceed the standardhigh efficiency contractors are exceeding CFM in some cases and have reduced the cooling load needed to cool a home as well as the energy usage of the air conditioning system
The bottom line is that there is no way that increasing air flow would cause a compressor to go out, Nor would installing a motor that matches the OEM specsThis unit was manufactured in June of According to the department of energy the average life span of an air conditioner is to yearsEnergy Star recommends that you replace you're a/c if it is over years old with an energy star qualified unit to see as much as a 20% reduction in your air conditioning costsThis unit lasted years and could have lasted longer by replacing the compressor

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
Mr*** does not address one of my concerns; why they worked on my unit without my approval first?
I understand it is a variable speed motorIs it not possible that his technician set it at the wrong speed? I know our AC contractor had to reset to the appropriate speed for the unit specifications
Please let me knowIf it was set at the wrong speed would it then be possible to cause damage to the unit
In response to the complaint filed by [redacted] we have fulfilled the customer's requests.

Re: Case # XXXXXXXX
[redacted],
We received a call from [redacted] regarding...
the situation with his spouse. Customer safety is our top priority and so we immediately responded by sending a technician to his home. Our technician reviewed the situation and determined that in no way we increased his wife's risk. It's interesting to note too, at the time of the technician visit, Mr. [redacted] indicated that his spouse had passed out in the home before we had ever been there. When he initially reported the issue to us he stated it was what we did that led to her passing out, which raised a red flag because his stories didn't coincide.
It's important to note that It's our aim to provide all feasible services and measures to manufactured mobile home residents. Mr. [redacted] was assessed for 2 programs. He received the full benefits of one, but could not provide the suitable documentation to receive the benefits of the other program. We continued to counsel with Mr. [redacted] on what he needed to provide in terms of documentation to receive program services for program #2. Time elapsed and he couldn't produce the proof of income that the utility company requires to be enrolled in the program.
In the end, we felt it best not to continue working with Mr [redacted]. Recognizing he is someone in need, we let him know that there were other contractors that he could contact to receive the program services. We hope [redacted] finds a contractor that is the best fit for him and he will be able receive the full benefits of the program.
Sincerely,
[redacted]
