The window was installed in May of 2014, not in as stated in the complaintThere were no leaksreported from the time the window was installed until December 2015.I spent approximately hours on two occasions to stop the leaking during December 2016.Per customer's request I installed caulking above and around the window (It was not caulked prior tothat as that is not standard procedure)No change in the leak. Then I installed plastic sheeting over the entire wall up to the roof-line and the leaking stopped.A friend or relative of customer's removed the plastic and installed more caulkingThe leak returnedafter which I re-installed the plastic and the leaking once again stoppedI concluded that the source ofthe leak was the deteriorated siding above the window and explained to the customer that was theproblem. After December I did not hear from the customer until she sent me an invoice via email asking forpayment for work done by SFW.Customer did not contact me prior to hiring SFW to make repairs.Note that the "invoice" from SFW makes no mention of repairs to the wall above the window but SFWmade repairs to the wall above the window
Complaint: [redacted]I am rejecting this response because: 1. Mr. [redacted] did come over and put up plastic on two occasions, but it was not done in December 2016 since it is July 2016.
2. The plastic was put up in December 2015.
3. Mr. [redacted] stated the leak was coming from the siding and that the leak in the window was not the fault of his installation work.
That is how he ended his last visit. He never offered to come back, check in or fix it. It was clear that was the extent of his efforts.
4. The SFW company clearly points out his faulty installation.
Sincerely,[redacted]
