Thank you for allowing our dealership to address Mr [redacted] concernsI have attached our response and the documentation to support our decisionThank you for the opportunity to address the situation with Mr [redacted] vehicleMr [redacted] purchased the [redacted] in question on September 26, with full disclosure that the vehicle was being sold “AS IS”Not only was Mr [redacted] aware of the previous diagnosis concerning the catalytic converter, but he also signed a we owe (attached) stating that he was purchasing the vehicle “AS IS with nothing being owed” to him at the time of purchaseIn addition, Mr [redacted] spoke with [redacted] , a member of Swope Toyota’s leadership team, about the catalytic converter needing to be replacedMr [redacted] requested that the dealership compensate him for repairing the catalytic converter by an independent technicianMr [redacted] stated the technician quoted him $for the repair.Despite the fact that the dealership was under no obligation to compensate Mr [redacted] for any of the repair costs as the car was sold “AS IS”, [redacted] agreed to reimburse Mr [redacted] $450.00, half of the repair cost Mr [redacted] requestedTo date, Mr [redacted] has not brought the front axle leaks to our attention, but this complaint falls under the same guidelines as the catalytic converter: the vehicle was sold “AS IS”The dealership has already assisted Mr [redacted] beyond the sales agreement and must decline Mr [redacted] request for further assistance.Respectfully, [redacted] Vice President | General Manager Swope Toyota
