Sweetwater Cabins Reviews (%countItem)

We rented the cabin from Thursday (7-23-2020) through Sunday (7-26-2020). On Thursday evening, after my wife bathed our child, a very unpleasant odor came from the drain of the bath tub and the odor was also outside of the house. We went to bed hoping it would go away but the smell never let up and got worse when we took a shower Friday morning. So we tried to call the emergency number to Sweetwater cabins numerous times Thursday evening and Friday morning without an answer. We then called Oklahoma Department of Health to ask if it was safe and they instructed us that if the water had an odor, that it was in fact NOT safe due to the bacteria not properly breaking down the solids which could lead to the spread of ecoli and other pathogens. With the information we received, we had to leave the cabin and head home since there was nothing left to rent and we could not get ANY contact with Sweetwater cabins to help with the issue we were facing. Sweetwater Cabins finally contacted back via EMAIL stating that she was on the road all day and then another excuse was that she was on the other line. They said that they went out there and smelled the smell outside but that it wasn't coming from the cabin I rented and that the water was safe even though it had an odor. This is the complete opposed for what the Oklahoma Department of Health told me and a quick google search determined that the water was in fact NOT safe. So now they were giving false statements that could jeopardize my families well being and health all to avoid paying a refund. They had a "septic company" come out Sunday, (the day that we were supposed to check out) but we had left Friday. I would avoid Sweetwater cabins because in an emergency, there was no contact available and I have screenshots of mine and my wifes call log for proof and the lady at Sweetwater cabins saying that she was on the road and on the other line. We are out 1,500 due to the lack of communication and from an potentially dangerous odor that was ruled unsafe by the public health department but Sweetwater Cabins took on the liability by stating that the water was safe even though it had an odor.

I’ve
been accused of:Not corresponding to communications in a timely manner. Please review correspondence with dates and times noted which illustrate the untruth of that statement.*** correspondence:Although in the past he emailed through *** he did not for the complaint of the odor until he already left the cabin. His only email was on Friday night, the 24th at 7:45 pm after stating he left the cabin at lunch and it is only a 2-hour drive, at which time a replied promptly.I had no emails stating a problem or even that he was considering leaving, (Exhibit A)_Emergency number:There are no missed calls, messages, or texts from this guest to the emergency number (Exhibit B) Sweetwater phone: There is 2 second message on sweetwater phone from Saturday, July 25th at 4:49 pm after the guest was already home and that message could not be transcribed because there were no words. (Exhibit C)I was on the other line when the guest called showing his call and the call I was on. (Exhibit D)Making False Claims: On Friday night when my manager and I went to the cabin and realized the smell was coming from a cabin up the street I immediately contacted the management company. When I spoke with them, they were the ones who stated that the system overflowed and that it was not dangerous so that is the information I relayed to the guest. There was no malicious intent or false claims on my part.SEE ATTACHMENTS FOR CONTINUATION

Sweetwater Cabins Response • Jul 30, 2020

I heard back from the Oklahoma Department of Health and below was his response and contact information:My Question: I am staying in a cabin in Broken Bow and there is a sewer/rotten egg smell, what could that be?Answer: The odor that you describe in your complaint makes me think that it is probably coming from an aerobic sewer system. I have been told that many of the cabins can not pass a perk test for a septic tank so they are allowed to use an aerobic system in lieu of a septic tank. The health department does not regulate the fresh water and sewer systems. That is under the guidance of the Department of Environmental Quality. The local number ***If I can be of further assistance to you, feel free to contact me.***
***
***
Question: Is it dangerous to my health
Answer: I don’t think it is

The guest said he called and they said it was dangerous and they would have to come out and inspect, when in fact according to them it is not dangerous and they do not govern sewer systems which suggest the guest was lying about his phone call.
