Review: On April 17, 2014, I went to the bakery for a baby shower cake. The design included a two layer cake with a baby's butt dressed with a diaper, pink dress, and little feet coming from it. I spoke to a representative about the design who quoted approximately $300 for it. I told her it was out of my price range, so she went to the back to speak with someone in reference to the design. She came back, and we then discussed having the one layer cake with the baby's butt design, which came to less than $200. I can't remember the exact price. The woman wrote down the design instructions on a sales slip, I paid a $75.00 deposit, and she gave me a payment receipt. Later that day I got a voice message from the bakery asking for a call back, and because of work I was unable to call back that day. I called the following day instead and was told by. Representative that I could not get the design for the price agreed. When asked why I was told several times, "it can't be done." Towards the end of the conversation I was finally told the design wouldn't look right. I told the representative I just wanted my deposit back and I wanted to cancel my order. I was told I had to wait for a phone call from someone to do that, which I didn't understand but agreed. When I finally received the call it was from someone who sounded like they had an immediate attitude. She said, "I was told to call you back about your cake. So what's going on what's happening?" In short I told her there was no issue and that I wanted to cancel my order and I wanted a refund. She began to go on about why the cake was $200 more than agreed, and I did cut her off and said, "ma'am, I just want my deposit and to cancel my order because I was told something totally different". From this point on she became belligerent telling me how I have to listen and how there was no way I could have placed the order with the design I gave because they could not do it for the price given. She was shouting and cutting me off when I was trying to explain. At one point she was so loud I couldn't hear myself speak and stumbled on my words, and she mocked me. She ended up hanging up on me because she said she thought I was not "calm enough" to speak to her and she told me to call her when I was able to speak to her calmly, and she hung up in the middle of me telling her not to. This was also when I was about to give her my credit card information so that she could refund my money. In the midst of all the fussing she did agreed to refund the full deposit. So I called back and she put me on hold for a few minutes and finally a nice lady picked up saying she was told to get my credit cars details to refund my deposit. I asked her specifically, "my card will be refunded the full $75.00 correct?" She said yes. Later that afternoon the representative, who I found out her name was Susan or Sue ( I believe) was the manager of the bakery, called with a backhanded apology. She said she was calling to apologize but not because she was still upset and how she's knows how important customer service is and so on. She then said she would love to have my business if I'm willing and complimented the design of the cake. She said she was going to work on the price of the cake with me when we were on the phone earlier but then didn't because she was upset. She said a couple of other niceties, I said thank you, and she quickly said thank you and hung up. The experience was horrible and she, being a manager, should have never handled that situation the way she did. I will never go to that bakery again.Desired Settlement: Today I seen they refunded $63.75 and not my full $75.00. The date of the baby shower I gave was 6/5/2014. They didn't start working on the cake, plus they got the order wrong, plus it was only 1-2 days I spoke to them in regards to this issue, and both the manager and the representative promised the full deposit. Where do they have a right to withhold funds. The service was horrible and now they are holding my funds. This is unjust.

Review: On Sunday, December 1st, 2013 I made a visit to Sweets To You by Ginger to purchase a cake for my spouse to celebrate their birthday. I encountered three different associates: the cashier, the owner, and another employee. The cashier very helpful in helping me decide on a cake. After I made my decision I waited in the lobby for my cake to be decorated. As I was waiting I browsed through a book of cakes previously made by the bakery. As I was browsing through the book, I ran my fingers through my hair a few times. The owner saw me touching my hair and said "Can you not play with your hair in here, this is a bakery." My response was "Excuse me?!" The owner then said "Your hair, this is a bakery!" The owner then walked into the back of the bakery. A different associate then walked out into the lobby and made an attempt to give me an apology. I explained to the woman how I felt very offended and how I thought the comment was rude. The woman was constantly trying to talk over me and said "I came out here to give you an apology, but its obvious that you're not willing to accept it." I explained to her that I was the customer and that I did not have to purchase a cake from their bakery if I was going to be talked to in a rude way. The woman then said "Ok ma'am, you don't." I then said to the woman "I don't understand why there is a problem for me to touch my own hair when no one in here has on a hair net or a hat while working around food". The woman responded with "We don't need to, all of our hair is pulled back." I was extremely upset and told the woman that I would never buy another cake from that bakery again. I paid the cashier for my cake and then I left very dissatisfied and unhappy.

I was VERY offended and I felt like my business was not appreciated at all.Desired Settlement: I think that the business should have their employees wear hair nets or hats since it is a food business.

Desired Settlement: Apology and Full Refund
