I had a membership with sweat fitness starting last yearI had to move back home (out of state) this past month so I called them to cancel my membershipThey made me call some 3rd party financial collection agency who in turn told me I had to submit all this proof of movingAnd it was all personal documents such as bank statements and pay stubs address changes with usps, things that contain personal secure information which I think is not rightI dont think they should be allowed to request such personal information when they're already going to charge me a cancellation fee and extra monthly fee for cancelling anywaysBut I did submit of those documents through email as they requested, and they're still claiming its not enough proof to cancel my membership, even though I spoke to one of their customer service agents (Ron) on the phone and he is the one who told me what I needed to send to cancel my membershipI am extremely frustrated, I think its a scam of a company
advertising. They advertise a three month no commitment gym membership that actually rolls into an annual commitment and they begin trying to take money out of your account before the month trial is upWhen I noticed this I called to complain and cancel and they ensured me that this was done and it was notI did not realize they had still been taking money from my account until I lost my debit card and had gotten a new oneI received a failed transaction/collections email from their billing departmentWhen I called again they informed me that this had not been canceled and that I was rolled over into an annual membershipI informed them that I had addressed this almost months prior and was told that I had been cancelled, the managers response was that there were notes on the account from then but it had not been cancelledI asked again for them to cancel the membership and to send confirmation

SWEAT Fitness member [redacted] purchased a gym membership on 3/29/2013. On 7/17/2013, she called our third party member services in regards to cancelling her membership. At that time she was provided information on the cancellation procedure. All cancellations are handled through our members services, "[redacted]". All changes made to a member's agreement is recorded in their membership notes. Her call inquiring about cancellation was recorded in her notes, but no record of her officially cancelling.
She claims she had put in a cancellation, but there is not a shred of documentation that states this. She could not provide me documentation or proof of cancellation. She claims she has not used the gym in the past 12-18 months. I have over 1,200 active members at this SWEAT Fitness location and 60% of them don't set foot in the gym. Also, I asked her if she checked her bank statements and she said she had not. If SWEAT wasn't supposed to be charging her, why didn't she stop the charges right away? This is the members responsibility.
Our cancellation policy is a 60 day notice to cancel. I attempted to give her the benefit of the doubt and cancel her without the 60 day notice, which is against protocol. I also confirmed the email on her account over the phone. When I cancelled the account I immediately sent her a confirmation email. However, the email It bounced back. I then tried calling her back but received a busy signal.
At this time with no accurate contact information, I am unable to send her proof of the cancellation. However, I can ensure that her account has been cancelled and she will not longer be charged. I will also be adding notes to our database regarding the situation.

Review: I have been billed for services I never used and was told verbally at the location front desk was place on an "account hold" (it is a month to month gym membership). I dispute the entire $500 dollar balance. Which is not pasted due I have initiated this after I was continually billed while on deployment in [redacted] (since Oct). The only service which I used was one month which is $50. I will happily accept a check from Sweat Fitness for $200 which was electronically transfered from my account. Now they have generated a $500 total amount after I have informed them I was cancellingDesired Settlement: Full refund $200 for November 2012, December 2012, January 2012, February 2012. And the additional completely bogus bill of $500 total amount to disappear.

Review: I purchased a trial package from Sweat over a year and a half ago. At the end of the trial, I did not renew a membership. I began getting emails promoting offers to renew my membership. There was no unsubscribe button provided, and I have replied to every email and have asked to be taken off the list. I move across the state a year ago and even explained this in one of the emails, yet I continue to get emails prompting me to rejoin.Desired Settlement: I just want them to stop contacting me about services.
