Review: Sutter Health is quick to send account to collections but slow in responding to their billing errors.
I had a payment plan with Sutter ($200 per month which is taken out of my credit card every month. My credit card sent me a new card with the chip, but I failed to update Sutter. Unfortunately, this caused delinquency on the account. However, Sutter did not notify me and I was very surprised when they sent my account to Collections. Realizing it was mistake on my part, I promptly paid the collections amount in full. However I complained to Sutter that they also failed in giving me ample warning before sending it to collections.
Meanwhile, I checked my Sutter account which now shows a negative balance of -$150.09 which means I overpaid. I called them up about this and they said they bave a billing error and they need two weeks to review it.
As you can see, they are quick to collect but slow to reimburse what was overpaid. They should reimburse me pending investigation on their sloppy accounting process.
I think collections should go both waysDesired Settlement: Pay me the money I overpaid while they are investigating their sloppy accounting practice.
I would also like them to give the consumer enough time to respond to a failed payment. In my case, a simple phone call would have eliminated the issue because I promptly pay.
Review: I needed to establish a new healthcare provider in the area I moved to. I was referred to a local doctor and called to make an appointment. This clinic will not take patients without insurance so my insurance information was discussed and I was assured that they take my insurance. I went to my appointment and was scheduled for a mammogram. Three weeks later, after the mammogram, I get a bill for services rendered and the insurance company had not paid anything. I called the clinic and they told me that the reason my insurance had not paid was because it went towards my deductible. I told them I don't have a deductible and they said I needed to call my insurance company. I did this and was told that that clinic was not in their network. I called the clinic back and they said they were so sorry for the mistake but there was nothing they could do about it. I pay $630 a month for my insurance and I do not think I should have to pay for the care I received there because of their error.Desired Settlement: I should not have to pay for the clinic's error.
