To Whom It May Concern,I did not try to respond to the letter sent on January 11, because I was out of town and did not see it until late on January 22, Not realizing that Ms***'s complaint was outlined on the back, I called Mr*** the following morning and again yesterday
and then heard back from him today.I was court-appointed to conduct a neutral custody evaluation with Ms*** and her now former husband I did so following the guidelines of the American Psychological Association and the Association for Family and Conciliation Courts While I recognize that Ms*** was unhappy with my conclusions and recommendations, that fact did not absolve the requirement that she pay half the costs of my services, which included providing testimony (since had I not appeared in court to be cross-examined, my report could not have been received by the judge), and although she did not want me to testify, it was her attorney who first questioned me and who used much more than half of the time that I was there I believe that the charges that were made to her were entirely appropriate and am unwilling to reimburse her or to dismiss her obligation to cover half of the costs for my trial preparation and testimony Thank you.
