Superior Propane requires all of our customers to sign a Service Agreement when they start service. Ms. [redacted] signed her service agreement which I have attached. On the back of the service agreement under Termination of Service paragraph two it states "Superior Propane incurs a cost to set up a new...

account and when service to a customer is terminated. To recoup a part of this cost we will charge you an accounting closing fee based on our minimum hourly rates."  Our hourly labor rate is $100.00. When a customer ends service by either selling or moving out of the house we give the new customer two weeks to sign up. In Ms. [redacted]'s case we read the percent in the tank on 8/26/16 as she requested. The new owners didn't sign up until 9/14/16. The paper work was than processed and the refund request sent to accounts payable. Superior Propane cuts checks once a month on the 10th or the next business day after. Therefore, Ms. [redacted]'s refund check was schedule to be cut and mailed on 10/10/16. In this case it would have taken six weeks, not an unreasonable amount of time. However, Superior Propane did send Ms. [redacted] her refund on 9/27/16 in an attempt to make her happy after several complaints. I have attached her signed service agreement front and back and the final invoice showing her refund amount. In effort to please Ms. [redacted] we are going to refund her back the $50.00 she is requesting. Thank you.

[A default letter is provided here which indicates your acceptance of the business's response.  If you wish, you may update it before sending it.]

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.  I have received the refund they owed and I would like to close this complaint.  Thank you very much.

Sincerely,
