Didn't finish work that paid in full for
August 2018 see below

Desired Outcome

Paid Steve Fountain-owner $13,100 to replace my siding with Hardy Board. I am a senior citizen he took all my money and never came back to complete work. T have texted him over 15 times, he promises to come and finish but never does. Beware of doing business in him and his company. Cannot be trusted

Everything has been completed except for minor touch up paint.

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)

I paid a check for $7,100 on August 8, 2018. At the time the remaining work was a wooden door that needed to be installed around my propane tank that would then be painted, and a spot high on our house that had been missed previously. After much haggling over 8 weeks he finally built the wooden door but did not paint it. I have contacted him well over 10 times via text messaging asking him to complete the work I had paid him for. Each time he would assure me the work would be completed very soon - it never was, and still hasn't been done. Finally after NINE MONTHS............ NINE MONTHS! of dealing with him, I texted him and said IF the work wasn't completed in 10 days I would report him to the Revdex.com. He said leave the paint out and he would finish the work, he never came. That's how we got to this point. He knew I would report him yet he still wouldn't finish his work after NINE MONTHS. Recently I have hired someone to finish the work I had previously paid to do. It is not right for n to treat us this way, we trusted him to keep his word, and gave him numerous opportunities to finish the job before resorting to this. We wish we hadn't had to file this report, actions or lack there of, forced us to take this action.

We put a "new" roof on the townhouse we purchased, it leaked from day one. After a year and a half of constant leaking we still have no resolution.
He installed a roof that involved missing flashing, shingles facing in the wrong direction, nailed through the shingles. This was supposed to have been a complete tear-off but he now admits that he never replaced the flashing around the chimney nor any place else, and more importantly, never replaced the rotted wood under neath. Time after time he came out and claimed to have fixed the issue when the multiple issues with the install were never addressed. We now have extensive damage to the interior of the home as a result. This damage includes mold within the walls. At one point, the water was literally running down the drywall inside during a hard rain. He kept saying he would make it right and was supposed to provide us with an estimate the first week of December 2017 for what it would cost to make the proper corrections and review the interior damage. He has since stopped answering our calls and texts and has never made any effort to provide an estimate to us.

Desired Outcome

needs to reimburse us not only for the poorly installed roof that we had to pay $5,800.00 to replace, but he also needs to pay us for all the interior damage to carpet, ceilings, drywall and mold within walls because of the incessant leaking in the roof that began the day he installed it.

This roof replacement was contracted with the previous owner. I was only contracted to remove and replace the shingles, and repair surface-level problems with the roof. The previous owner did NOT contract me to remove and replace all flashing, or the chimney, or fix any of the problems with the decking (other than rot) that existed at that time, if any. I did my job, and I am not responsible for the damages that have accrued due to any problems that I was not contracted to fix.

There was a leak near the back corner wall when I was contracted to replace the roof, and once I fixed it, there was not a recurrence of the leak until a mold issue (the cause of which has not been determined) surfaced. Someone tried to fix that leak with foam, and that was not a proper solution. That is when this consumer contacted me and demanded that I take responsibility for leakages and damages. I agreed to go assess the situation. I did fix the new leak caused by the foam someone sprayed in that corner, which caused a water back-up, and have provided pictures of the area before I repaired it and after I sealed it properly. I advised her then that the vinyl would have to be removed and replaced to permanently resolve that issue.

When she said she wanted the chimney removed, I said that I could do that, but that was not a part of the original contract. She said she wanted the entire roof torn off, including the decking, and she demanded an estimate for that job. I advised her that that was not recommended to fix the problem, because it was a new roof and did not need new decking, but she was persistent. By that time, I felt like the consumer was being hostile and did not feel comfortable providing an estimate or performing the job she wanted a quote for. She contracted someone else to do the job instead, and now she wants to be reimbursed by me for that job and interior damages that, again, were not my fault.

I have taken screenshots of every message that was exchanged between myself and the consumer showing that I was very cooperative and did my best to help resolve the situation. I also have pictures taken and pictures provided by the customer of the roof and other problem areas. I can provide all that information if requested.

I want it to be known that I stand by my work, and my priority is always customer satisfaction. It is regretful that the consumer and I did not reach a resolution, but I did my job, and when a problem was reported, did my best to reach the most optimal solution.
