Review: I had over $10,000 of carpet and wood flooring installed at the end of June, 2014. Shortly after resuming living in my bedroom (within a few days), I slipped, fell, and broke two bones in my arm. I contacted the company, as I was told the new surface would be "exactly" like the existing hardwood floor I had installed in my lower floor of the house (same manufacturer), but it is a very different and far more slippery finish. My husband also very nearly suffered a serious injury when he had a bad slip, so now we have carpeted the surface. I requested a long-term solution and was willing to pay to have this solved. After much research, I found a product called Bona non-slip that can be installed to make my floors safe. However, I cannot get help or a response from Superior Flooring Design to solve this issue. They initially said that they would refinish the floors at my expense, and now I cannot get a return call or email from the owner or salesperson. I never threatened to sue, never got angry... despite two broken bones and many broken promises. I think this total lack of concern for the customer's safety is unacceptable.Desired Settlement: I think that Superior Flooring should immediately refinish my bedroom hardwood flooring with Bona non-slip surface to make it safe. I am 8 weeks into my broken arm and have 2 weeks left in my brace. I want to feel safe in my own bedroom.

At the request of the homeowners, we propose to apply a coating of Bona Traffic anti-slipcoating to their floors, at a cost of$756, which will be held in escrow by the Better BusinessBureau until completion of the application.

The homeowners will move any and all small, fragile items, or any items that have a sentimentalvalue and are irreplaceable. We will carefully move all heavy furniture, excluding pianos, pooltables, or grandfather clocks, which must be moved by professional movers at the homeowner'sexpense.

The homeowners must release Superior Floor Designs from any liability related to theapplication of a product to the flooring that will void the original manufacturer's warranty.

Please let us know when payment and liability release have been received, and we will schedulethe work.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.Because I felt the floors were not safe, as evidenced by my broken arm, I asked for immediate application of a nonslip surface. When the company did not respond for many, many months, I had the surface applied by Cut and Dried Flooring in Solana Beach. The cost was substantially higher, but my safety was most important.
