My name is Andrew Mikesell owner of Mikesells construction. In response to Mr. [redacted] claim from 10/12/2016 let me first express my disappointment, as this is the first time in my 20+ years in business that anyone has ever been unhappy with my work. Concerning the claim going back to 2013 I...
specifically remember Mr. [redacted] and Ms [redacted] and their home. My first visit to the residence for an estimate left me with concern because during my time there I was shown by Mr. [redacted] many areas of pre-existing damage in and around his home none of which he was hiring me to address except the roofing and gutters. The. Purple did hire me to replace their roof and replace their gutters. Upon starting the roof we did in fact see bad decking that needed to be completely replaced. I put in a call to Mr. [redacted] and much to his dismay, not wanting to spend extra money he did agree to replace all the decking. When I had originally spoke with the couple I had expressed concern about rotted decking and gutter boards that were probably a result of age and water damage. Unfortunately Mr [redacted] did decline however replacing all the gutter boards and was quite addiment over not incurring extra expenses because they were not intending tostadas in the home. They really just wanted to fix some things and then sell.Presently Mr. [redacted] is claiming that my roofing and gutters were installed incorrectly and that is the reason for the damage that he has both inside and outside his home. I have made several attempts to resolve these issues with the couple including claiming responsibility, as well as repairing any damage that is in fact a direct result of my work, but again Mr [redacted] declined. On October 19, 2016, I went to the residence and went as far as running a water hose around the chimney from the rooftop while inside the attic looking for evidence of any water. I did in fact see around the chimney an area where it looked like the flashing was installed incorrectly at that time I offered to fix the flashing and again Mr. [redacted] declined. Presently Mr. [redacted] decided that he wanted instead to get my insurance company involved. On October 26, 2016 an agent from my insurance company did in fact go to the residence and is currently in the process of investigating Mr. [redacted] claim. After several attempts to stand behind my work Mr [redacted] is still insisting on money to replace his entire roof, replace all his gutters and even fix many interior areas of his home.
