Review: My complaint about Sunshine Ford-Lincoln is twofold: price gouging and not supporting the customer to Ford to honor the 5yr./60,000 mile drive train warranty of the 2010 Ford Escape that we towed according to Ford's directions behind our Class A RV for 125 miles. Drive train and PTU melted. Sunshine quoted over $6,400 to install a rebuilt transmission and a PTU. Park Ford of Mahopac (where the Escape was purchased) quoted the repairs at: $5703. Ford Dealership in Laconia NH quoted repairs at $4,973. Halderman Ford near our home in south eastern Pennsylvania quoted repairs at $3,500 to $4,000. We just had the misfortune to break down on The N.Y. Thruway near Sunshine Ford-Lincoln. Fortunately we paid to have the Escape towed to where it was purchased: Park Ford in Mahopac, N.Y. Meanwhile we paid Sunshine for the diagnostics: $113 plus tax. The service manager at Sunshine would not take calls from the service manager at Park Ford regarding our Escape. The service manager at Park Ford supported our cause with Ford and after 2 1/2 weeks Ford agreed to honor the drivetrain warranty. I am so relieved that we did not stay with Sunshine Ford-Lincoln.Desired Settlement: In my wildest dream I would like Sunshine to cover our costs of the diagnostics ($113 plus tax) and the $325.13 tow fee from Sunshine to Park Ford. Realistically, I would like an alert recorded to warn future Ford/Lincoln customers to choose a service department other than Sunshine who would charge the unfortunate traveler over $700 more than the next highest service department.
