Sunset Decks

Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: Where do I start? They absolutely did not come back out and finish the job His brother said that he was going to come back out and fix the stairs not hitting the landing and he never showed back up After calling his brother and him several times, he responded via email that he was not willing to do any more on our deck and he considered it done We still have huge chunks of concrete on our "steep" grade hill that were never removed We paid over $25,to have this guy put in a deck that does not meet our needs We asked that the steps hit the new concrete pad that we had poured the year before and he didn't do it He stared from scratch and told me that he could get the job done correctly The individuals that he had working on our deck couldn't figure it out They need to be fixed If he couldn't figure it out from an engineering aspect in the beginning, why did he tell me that they could do it Why can other people say it can be fixed and yet the challenge of a steep hill keeps him from getting this done If you would like, I can take pictures of the concrete blocks left on our property that they never cleaned up and the stairs hanging off the side of the walkway It is an absolutely 100% unacceptable job and laughable that he stands behind his work Bottom line is it still isn't fixed and is not worth the $25k I put into a job that I could do better myself with no construction training! there a few employees that really care about the outcome of your deck Then there is the owner that is more concerned about what his next job is instead of the job in front of him Did a basically fair job leaving many boards uneven When the younger guys were trying to make sure their job was to professional the older guys told them this is the way we do it and if it is a crappy outcome, so be it I would recommend them if they leave the owner and the older guys at home You pay way to much money to them for them to be thinking about tomorrow instead of the job that is in front of them thank you dane ps: [redacted] !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The original employees that were assigned to this project are no longer employed with Sunset Decks. The company did level the stairs per request and corrected problems with deck. However, the location of deck and stairs is against a steep hill that makes the final stair a significant
challenge. From an engineering standpoint, if there was a better way to construct the staircase, please provide the necessary documents to do so. Company went several times to correct problems at customer's request. Company's position is that they have gone above and beyond requests of customer to satisfy. It is the policy of the company to not refund but correct the work performed. It also is the position of Sunset Deck not to reimburse for any additional work contracted by an outsider at Customer's request to do work. Sunset Deck has completed this job for the customer and we stand 100% behind our work
