I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.
Regards,
*** *** I don't find it satisfactory, he knows what was discussed. Word of mouth is a big part of any business, and I would not recommend this company to anyone looking to have asphalt work done. My neighbor has indicated she feels the same way. I will send out the check for $in the next couple of weeks
Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, we would like to know your view on the matter.]
Regards,
[redacted] Four Lakes never indicated to myself or my neighbor that they would not be starting the driveway in April when we signed the contract. We were given at least 4 dates that they would be there to start and nobody showed. No call from Four Lakes to explain why, my neighbor had to call them to find out what the problem was. In their response they make it sound like it just went how it was supposed to, and that was not the case at all. When I spoke to [redacted] the week before they actually came and finished the job, be told me at that time that a few hundred dollars would be knocked off the bill. Now they offer $100.00, $50.00 for each of us. That is not acceptable. If we would not continued to call, I doubt the driveway would be done now. This is a terrible way to run a company. As far as my neighbor saying the driveway is beautiful, it is an improvement. But we had to wait way too long and we should not of had to constantly call them to get it done. And to have to deal with that rude lady that answers the phone, was adding insult to injury.
We stand by our previous response to this complaint. However in a good faith effort to settle this we will deduct an additional $100.00 from the final billing for a total discount of $200.00 .
On 4/5/15 a proposal was signed by our customer. This is well before our season starts. We started prep work in Mid May this year. At the time of the estimate it was noted on the proposal that drainage is minimal 1% or less. During our contact with our customer we expressed our concerns with the...
minimal drainage on the drivewayand that we wanted to make sure we were all on the same page with expectations for drainage. We sent our grading foreman out to the job site in Early june to shoot grades. He confirmed that drainage was an issue. We presented the customer with a letter about the site conditions. They signed the letter on 6/20/15. On July 27 we graded the driveway. When we present our proposals we tell our customers that we allow a couple of weeks between grading and paving. Weather factors into this timing also on this project the city had to adjust the water valve boxes in driveway which affects the timing. If everything went perfectly the first date we would have completed the paving would have been August 11th, as it worked out we had a tentative schedule of the week of August 17th for paving. That week on Monday and Tuesday we had alot of rain .36" Monday and 1.52" on Tuesday. As a result paving was pushed back to the following week to allow the base to dry. [redacted] called to tell us the driveway was under water. I told her it was in both our best interest to hold off paving until the following week after the driveway had a chance to dry out. The customer states they were without the use of their driveway for 5 months. The only time the driveway did not have pavement on it was while it was graded this turned out to be 4 weeks. Most of our customers use the drive while it is gravel. Others don't because of the drop at the garage and sidewalk. We feel that we needed to get a full understanding of the drainage issues before we did thework and it took a bit of discussion and paper work to get that accomplished. Once the work was started the paving was completed in a reasonable amount of time. We understand their frustration with the process, and Offered a $100.00 credit as a good will gesture. I would also like to note that the other owner of the property called and said that the driveway was beautiful.
