This company installed a solar panel system at my house. I was not given a cost estimate and when installed, I did not get an invoice to show what products I received and what was the cost of each component and labor costs. I'm now understanding the implication of the cost of solar panels. If I need to sell my home ,I need to show buyer the cost the system and what it's capabilities are as these costs will need to be included in the purchase price. I have contacted this company myself but did not get any help. My father who is on the mortgage with me ha called and emailed the office manager, Libby E., to try to get a detailed invoice to include products, components, etc. And costs including labor. This information should have bee provided at the beginning. Ms E. has promised to have sales team to provide us the requested info but after two weeks and numerous calls and emails with no results. I now feel they are hiding something. Could be I was greatly overcharged for system(over $48k) for a 1600 sq ft home. Until I can see the details, I don't know. If you need to speak with me call my father, *** at ***. He has communicated with Ms E. most of the time.
I need the detailed invoice to support the system and it's cost so I can provide to buyer if selling house.
Product_Or_Service: Solar system panels

It has come to our attention that our client believes there is a possibility they were overcharged for the system, and this simply is not the case. Solar is priced on a per watt basis, not a per square foot of your home. For example, if your utility bill is only $100 per month, you will need less solar panels than if your utility bill averages $300 dollars per month. *** residence required a solar system almost 3 times the national average size.
Regarding selling the home: the clients chose to go with the zero out of pocket option through a finance partner called *** This partner allows them to transfer the solar payment to the new homeowner if they choose to sell. The new homeowner will have to participate in a credit check similar to the process of setting up new utilities on a property. The *** residence is also eligible for a tax credit equal to almost 15k bringing their estimated NET cost down to $34,885.
We have also sent them their formal contract and a detailed invoice of all the products and services they signed for as requested to resolve this issue.
Still have not received documentation, invoice with breakout of equipment and labor costs to support the costs charged for this installation. Would like included the evaluation that supports the number of panels installed for this size house..
It seems like a total rip off and over sale on part of installation company. Please get the documentation.
Thank you

What was ask for is a detailed list of the equipment installed. You state that you provide that detailed information at time of installation plus documentation provided by the manufacturers. Numbers of pieces of equipment installed with cost of each piece.
Also Bank Fees $9469(we are paying bannking fees and interest on the loan of $49000), marketing $3500, shipping $2200 and permitting $2500 all seem excessive. Please explain these costs.
Whether ihis installation is excessive for this house may require professional evaluation and legal assistance. I assume this is the size system you advised.
I'm happy to explain our invoice.
Bank Fees- $9469 is correct and we have no control of this fee. This is what the loan company charges us.
Marketing prices include the cost of the advertising and sales commission. This is industry average.
Shipping and permitting also fall in line with the industry average. Engineering, the cost of the permit, and shipping costs are not inexpensive by any means. It takes a large team of highly qualified individuals to bring projects to fruition. These services do not come cheap.
Again, I want to Reiterate this particular system is almost 3 times the size of an average system in the US. This increases the cost of all services provided with the installation of the system. I included a screenshot of all the materials involved in a similar system of this size.
