Sunchase Apartments

Review: Sunchase apartments kept our $100 deposit from this school year 2013-14 and billed us an additional $115.00 to replace a mattress. Additionally, Sunchase has never identified what warranted replacing the mattress.

More importantly, we did not receive notice regarding our security deposit within the required 30 day time period.

By the time we received notice the mattress had already been removed and placed in the "soiled" bedding storage. Convenient for them, since we have no guarantee they could show us the "actual"mattress belonging to our son.

First of all, the mattress does not need replacing. My husband and I both cleaned that apartment with our son and saw the condition of that mattress. The mattress was in supreme condition and hardly used.

In addition, all three of us were there for checkout and asked if there were any problems. We were told only cosmetic items that Sunchase may or may not choose to fix. We also never received a copy of the checkout form.

We even thoroughly cleaned the kitchen including appliances (stove etc.) and were told we actually weren't responsible for cleaning the kitchen.

The other roommates are remaining and signed a lease for next year. After the inspection all Sunchase did to secure the inspected bedroom was to hang a sign on the door. I doubt that was enough to defer anyone from going into the room.Desired Settlement: We are requesting a refund of our $100.00 deposit and zero balance due.
