responsibility. Regular statements were sent in November, December, January, February and March. In addition to the regular statements a letter was sent X-XX-XX prompting payment. No response was received to our statements or letter and on X-XX-XX notification of placement with a collection agency was sent. The letter requested a response within 7 days. On X-XX-XX I received a call asking for additional time. I explained this was a very past due balance and stated we needed payment in the next 2-3 days or the account would be placed with the collection agency. Between X-XX-XX and X-XX-XX I received a call asking if the account had been paid. I responded that the amount was still outstanding. On X-XX-XX I did receive a call asking if monthly payments could be made. I related the account had been placed with a collection agency and she should contact them. Today (X-X-XX) after receiving this complaint I contacted the collection agency. They have not received a call from her. According to the agency the person filing the complaint should have 120 days from X-XX-XX to pay the balance before the account will be reported as a collection.
