I went for my yearly eye examAn associate came and brought me back and began all of the norman pre exam testingThen she took me into the room and began the actual examinationI was a little puzzled because I was paying an dfiling to my insurance for teh actual doctor to do the examAfter the associate finished the exam, Dr Gates came in and introduced himselfWithout so much as looking into my eyes just stated that he see that I am a contact lens wearer and began telling me all of the horrible things that happen to people who wear contact and that I hsould have see the lady he saw earlier today because of her wearing contactsI asked if there were any signs of a problemHe looked briefly at the notes that the associate had written and said noI told him I have worn contacts for over yearsI think I know how to properly take care of themHe then stated that he just didn't believe that people should wear them I said after 20+ years I'm not going to stop unless they are causing damageHe again said that my eyes looked healthy and leftHe never once looked in my eyesNot once
I was then sent over to get "fitted" for my contactsAfter putting in the first pair (the same brand that I have been wearing for years), I could not see out of themEverything was blurry The girl said that was the Rx he had given me and said she would try another pairAfter trying on different strenghts of contacts, she finally found some I could see out ofWhen I looked at the package, they were the same Rx that I have been for years and the same Rx I told them I was when I filled out my paper work, a -and a -I looked at the other packages of contacts and they went as low as a -I haven't been a -4:in years
They then took me over to get my eyeglasses and when the lady handed me my Rx, sure enough it said -and -I told them that their had to be a mistake somewhere, because I knew for sure that that was not correctThey told me that that is what the exam ( by the associate, not a MD) said I wasI told them there had been an error and I wanted a new examinationThey refusedI wound up having to pay for and exam that yielded a Rx that would still leave me unable to see
I had to go to another practice and pay for another exam to get a RxThis time I was seen by an actual doctor and given a Rx of -and -Huge difference and I can actually see
Even after showing them my corrected Rx, they refuse to refund me or even appoligize for their error or rudnessThis is a horrible office and I know several people that have had similar experiences here
