Review: I received a letter from Summit Business Consultants, Inc., for Delinquent Debt Verification Notice. The letter stated; This is a formal notice to you that the above-named creditor ([redacted]), Account#: [redacted], Balance due $137.27, has referred this claim for collection. The claim will be brought to final disposition within the next (30) days, and any counterclaims or disputes must be filed during this period. We will use all legal means available to us to recover the money owed to our client. You may protect your credit rating and avoid direct collection procedures by remitting the balance in full directly to our office now! Direct all questions to Howard S[redacted] at ###-###-####. Please make check or money order payable to: Summit Business Consultants, Inc. This is an attempt to collect a debt, any information obtained will be used for that purpose. There was also an envelope enclosed with the letter for me to send them the requested payment. I placed a call to Summit Business Consultants, Inc. I received a call back and the gentleman on the voice mail indicated that the letter was not a collection notice but rather a letter advertising their services. They could collect debts for us. There was no mention in the letter that they were advertising services, however, as indicated above they were requesting money from me for a debt that does not exist.Desired Settlement: I would like the Better Business to contact Summit Business Consultants, Inc., with regards to their inappropriate business tactics. I feel that it was their intention for me to pay the requested amount for a claim that does not exist.
