12,2015. [redacted] never spoke with myself prior to submitting this claim and the letter wasn’t received until after [redacted] repairs was finished and he paid for and picked up his vehicle. If he had an issue with my mechanics work, I wish he would have spoken to me personally. I have since spoke with the mechanic that was assigned to, his repairs and the mechanic said he was working as quickly as he could with the other mechanics due to the amount of vehicles that were scheduled at that time, also. I believe [redacted] was able to pick up this vehicle, repaired, on February 13th or 14th. I apologize for the inconvenience that was caused to [redacted] and hope that he has since found a suitable mechanic to repair his vehicles in a timely manner for the future. If you have any questions, please feel free to call.Sincerely, [redacted] President

Review: I first sent my 03 jeep liberty to Summit Auto Auction for new rear breaks, they put new breaks and rotors on the rear and in the following weeks while my wife was driving, the tires started locking up, first with the rear tires. We sent it back to Summit Auto Auction so they could fix the problem they created, they charged us 20 dollars to fix the rear breaks. After a few days the passenger front tire locked up and as a result my wife ended up going off the road and was unable to drive the jeep. We then took the jeep back to Summit Auto Auction so that they might yet again fix the problem they created. Once the jeep was in they're possession I received a phone call from the mechanic named "Johnny" and he told me my front hub bearings were bad and that they needed replaced. He gave me a maximum Quote of 660.00 for the repairs. after a couple days he called me back and told me that my oil pan needed replaced but he was able to save me 300.00 from his original quote by not using new axels ( which was part of his original quote) which brings the quote to about 360.00. He told me that to replace it with him it would not be very expensive and we would still end up under our original quote. On Saturday 8/27/16 I called him to see if I could get my Jeep and he said he was about to put a new muffler on it without talking to me first. He also put new hood Shocks on it for 70.00 without talking to me first. I told him to stop putting things on the car and to give me the current amount due. His final payment was over 1100.00. What he did not tell me was that he was going to cut a section of about 18 inches out of the middle of my frame to enable him to change the oil pan. He told me that if I would have taken the jeep anywhere else to change the oil pan that they would have to pull the motor out in order to change the oil pan. I've called [redacted] of Erie to confirm this, that information was incorrect. In no situation would the frame need to be cut at all and the motor would not need to be pulled to change the oil pan. I feel as if they took advantage of the situation and I was forced to pay them over 1100 dollars, and the reason I brought the Jeep to them was because they messed up the breaks in the first place. Also The jeep still makes a "humming" noise (which is why he changed the hub bearings in the first place). So I feel as if nothing was actually accomplished with my vehicle other than the fact that its frame in now weakened due to the welds. also I was shown no welding certificate at all. In addition he told me that the oil pan would have never passed inspection which is why it needed changed. The car was inspected by Summit Auto Auction the previous month.Desired Settlement: Being that the jeep still shakes and still makes the same "humming" noise as before and neither my wife or I are comfortable with driving the jeep anymore due to the fact that I have no idea if the mechanic is a certified welder or how good his welds are and if my car is going to fall apart while going down the road I am requesting a refund of all 1100.00 back to me in the form of money order. In addition I would like my frame to be examined by a mechanic of my choosing and the welds to be x-rayed for cracks. if the frame welds have cracks I request a new 03 Jeep liberty of equal value to mine as a replacement vehicle since mine will no longer have a good frame.

My experience with Summit and with the people there has been nothing but excellent. I purchased a 2001 Ford Taurus over a year ago when I was in a sticky situation. The owner was not only willing to work with me on a down payment I could manage, but he also allowed me to make reasonable monthly payments until I received a large chunk of money at once to pay it off. In past experience, I have always had problems with used vehicles within the first year. However, this vehicle is still in the same great condition it was in when the owner handed me the keys. I did have one small issue about four months after buying it, but the owner not only had his mechanic fix it, but the charge was a fraction of what it would have been elsewhere. There have been no major problems, and no other repairs needed besides regular maintenance. No car is 100% predictable, but I am willing to bet this vehicle will last me a few years. When it does go, I will be going back for my next one.

Re: [redacted]Address: [redacted]ID#: 10577840 To Whom It May Concern:This letter is the customer complaint letter that I received on April 16, 2015. To start off, it must be stated that Mr. [redacted] claimed to have had this complain on April 5fll, but that was a Sunday and Summit Auto is closed every Sunday, so Pm not sure when or who he talked to specifically on that day. My salesperson, [redacted], and the mechanic, [redacted], do remember speaking to Mr. [redacted] about his vehicle after he had picked it up from being repaired, but do not recall which day that was on. His repairs included a 4X4 actuator, I used switch and fixing ground wires. The day he picked up his vehicle, the mechanic had test drove it multiple times (4-5) and it was going in and out of four wheel drive without any problems & there was no “tape on his dashboard57. The day that Mr. [redacted] had called, he was told to bring his vehicle back in, so the mechanic could look at it immediately, as it is impossible to diagnose any problem over the phone. The secretary, [redacted], had answered the phone, so she knew who was on the other line and heard Mr. [redacted] being told to bring it back- As of today, Mr. [redacted] hasn’t been back in, so in my eyes there was no reason for us to “return” his call, when he was already informed he could bring it back. Putting black tape over the check 4wheel drive light or any other light on a dashboard is not common practice here at Summit Auto, but without seeing the vehicle myself, I cannot agree or disagree that the tape is there,, for all I know, Mr. [redacted] put the tape there himself. So Pm going to stand by my mechanic’s word and if Mr. [redacted] would like to bring it back, so we can see if there is still an issue, then the mechanic can and will schedule him an appointment, but if Mr. [redacted] has no further issues with the 4 wheel drive, then he doesn’t need to make any appointments in the future. If you have any questions, please feel free to call.Sincerely,[redacted] President
