Dear Revdex.com,The following explanation was provided by Mr*** *** following his consultation with the instructor directly involved with this student. The student hurt his hand outside of school around the second or third week of the ten week Electric specialty program. The hand was in a bandage the majority of the remainder of the program. The student was allowed to continue, as the first two or three weeks of the program has a large classroom component, and it was hoped the hand would quickly heal. By the time the program turned almost entirely hands-on, the student’s hand continued to get re-infected (not due to class activity) so his participation and learning were hampered. The instructors gave him special attention in demonstrating the hanactivities for him, allowing him to join in when his hand was better. In this way, he got to week where the Finals are a series of handemonstrations. The student was absent that entire Finals week. The next week, the instructor made arrangements with the student to take the Finals after school (because a new group had already started during the day). On the first of the scheduled days, the student did not show up. A new day was scheduled, and although the student did show up, he merely stood in front of the task (wiring up a panel box) for over a half-hour visibly sweating and shaking. Finally the student said “I can’t do this” and left. He was not given a third opportunity. The student may re-enter the program, only having to take these weeks over again (not the first weeks) but he must apply for re-entry with the Admissions Office If there are any further questions or should you need clarification, please let me know. Sincerely, Marc L ***Chief Financial Officer
