Ms*** has made incorrect statementWe have had the vehicle at AAMCO for a total of timesFirst 1/23/17 for a check engine light came on for speed sensorSecond time 2/23/She brought the vehicle for a check engine light on for unrelated problem the shift solenoid for
the transmission, after diagnosing and replacement of the solenoid we recommend to replace the transmission due to slipping in 1st gear and sluggish shift in to the following gearThat fixed the problemApproximately A few months In later in April 3rd she brought the vehicle in for check engine light this time it was similar code for the transmission solenoid and was repaired under warrantyWe did find the alarm circuit had caused fault due to improper ground circuit sharing or coming in to contact, this time there was an electrical short out side of the transmission causing the solenoid to short circuit and hence transmission failure. Regardless Transmission was replaced under warranty with out questionThis last time on 9/23/customer brought the vehicle stated there was a check engine light on again and was leaking transmission fluid according to a mechanic she visitedWe checked the vehilcle and found no check engine light onTransmission worked ok but did find a small leak from transmission harness connector sealRepaired leak and retested transmission was ok and still no check engine light detectedCustomer picked up on 9/26/There was no failure on transmission nor check engine light to complain about so we don't see any reason to reimburse the customer for accusations
First of all let me start by saying we usually don't like to say any negative things about our customers but this is flat out false and lie. I spoke to Mr. Greco Personally and he told me to go ahead and fix the car, after he gave us the authorization to do a diagnosis at coast of $195, on...
what he thought was a failing transmission. Once the diagnosis was finished, we gave him an option of replacing the catalytic converter new Original from Manufacturer or after market where he would take it to a muffler shop. We generally don't do welding in house. He opted to have the aftermarket catalytic converter since it was going to be significantly cheaper. I suggested to have him go to a muffler shop where it would be cheaper, but Mr. [redacted] said since he wanted the credit for the diagnosis, he would prefer for us to get it done with us and said " if you can do it for $750 to go ahead and do it" exact words. I said Ill do my best to get it done for that amount and I called and tried to get it done at a muffler shop but the price was going to be over $850. I called and notified him before getting it done that I can get it done for $762 out the door with tax. Mr. [redacted] said if that's the best I could do to do it. I Had a welder from another shop come in and give us a discount. and install the aftermarket catalytic converter installed for $725 + tax which came to $762.00. Mr. [redacted] came in after wards and inspected to make sure it was done and thanked us paid and took the vehicle. This comes as a complete surprise since we went back and forth about this transaction before it was done, almost 10 days because of the back and forth waiting for authorization. I actually told him to take it to a muffler shop and he declined, because he did not want to loose his diagnosis credit, also we were highly recommended by someone to him. There is no refund for this customer since he clearly gave us the authorization to do the repair. He even called our corporate office and made a complaint not for authorization but being over charged. This is just a shame for having a buyers remorse after getting what he wanted done, now trying to come up with excuses to get money back by tarnishing our name after we bent over backwards to accommodate him and meet his price.
This complaint was made while the vehicle was at the facility being worked on. We have spoken to customer and assure that the problem was not the solenoid because that was the first thing we looked at and while diagnosing replaced the solenoid and it did not fix the problem. There was a ground wire...
from the alarm system that was shorting out the pressure control solenoid circuit due to improper wiring. During the diagnosis also checked the internal of the transmission and found burnt clutches and that was why we replaced the transmission. When the customer returned we took car of the problem under warranty at no charge. We did notify that there may be a control module problem due to the improper wiring that could have also shorted out the computer within the circuit that had been causing transmission problem. We don't have any way to look in the computer only rule out all the components that it controls and if everything is working with in specification and the computer can produce fault code due to internal circuit damage. At this point transmission is working ok and we have not heard back from customer.

However same problem with new transmission several times and they gave me back my vehicle knowing the problem could still be there. I had to test drive car in situations where I was afraid the car would break down in the middle of the road. Instead them being proactive in doing their job.
