this is one of the worst companies to deal with , they monopolize the electric service in your area, you can not get service anywhere else and then they start charging as much as they wantthey triple their rates in the summer they have no customer service , just people who have no morals , no values and just plain don't care
I recently went over to a property I am getting ready to sell and found the power had been cut offwhen I called gp to find out the reason, I was put on indefinite hold times, the 4th time I pleaded to not be put on hold and asked for an answer to why the power had been cut off (cols ga.) w/o any noticeI had at 1st been told the meter had been stolen, but the meter can was undamagedthis time I was told the neighbor had blocked access to the meter (piled up trash- he was ordered by the city to empty his yard of tons of trash) up along the fence line (on its way to the street) and the power meter couldn't be accessedi replied that it must have been accessible as it was removed w/o any notificationas they said they would do on their continuous recordingshe said that notification of service termination wasn't for people like me (with multiple acct's who has paid the power bill religiously for almost years), it was for poor people unable to pay their billshe also said to get the power back on would now require an (expensive) electrical inspectionmy 'final bill' arrived a few days laterI emailed a complaint weeks ago and have still not heard anything
to sum up, gp turned off my power w/o any notification (they also have my phone # on file) because of the actions of a neighbor, removed my meter, disconnected the power at the pole, and have refused to answer my querya simple phone call or note and I would have quickly remedied the situation
imho, this type arrogance is what comes with having a monopolyno company competing for business would act in this mannerhow did they know I did not have a renter in the apt.? this was during a cold spell in late dec
Georgia Power is the worst experience when it comes to utility companies. My power was shut off for 24 cents. My children really appreciated that while they were preparing for school.
I am interested in hearing more from the claims department about the damage done to my vehicle by the Georgia Power crew working on the electrical pole above my car. This incident occurred back on June 28th and I have since then spoke to three different claims dept representatives and have yet to come to any real resolution for the damage caused by Georgia Power. I have since then had to repair the damages out of my own pocket due to the fact that the damage was so bad, and I didn't want it to also result in interior damage to my car. This is absolutely absurd for a company like this to not only dodge responsibility for something that happened as a result of their own doing, but to do it to a customer of their own. Of the three reps I've spoke to the last one said I would hear back, mind you this was several months after the incident, and now several months after that I have heard nothing. Absolutely ridiculous the morality and accountability that this company has, I have never seen anything like it.
