As the client says, an employee of ours originally misquoted her with our van (and not our truck) rate and with some of our standard charges missingUnfortunately we had to correct the charges last-minute so as our business would not lose moneyThe employee was dealt with, and when we spoke to the client we were very apologetic and were able to remove the $Certificate of Insurance Fee and give her a 10% discount overallShe agreed to proceed with the move.As explained before the move went forward, the remaining missing charges were $for travel fees, a $end of the month fee and $150/hour for the labor. In terms of the requested refund (travel fee, end of the month fee and two hours of labor):- The travel fee covered all of our gas and tolls from New York City to BostonTravel charges, especially tolls, are often significantly more in a large truck than a car.- The end of the month rush fee is a standard fee that we charge during the last five days of the month (our busy time), and is standard across the board for moving companies. To be clear, both of these fees were explained by the company and agreed upon with the client both in writing and on the phone BEFORE the job began. The client contacted us on the day of the move to discuss the length of the driveOur drivers make every effort to drive large trucks full of valuable furniture as fast as possible to their destinations while maintaining safety on the roadIt was explained numerous times to the client during the drive that our drivers cannot account for traffic, road delays, and that larger trucks filled with cargo must drive more slowly than passenger carsThe entire job (loading, driving, unloading) took hours from start to finish, but since the movers had been met with unexpected road delays, we only charged the client for hours. So in summary, all charges were explained both in writing and on the phone to the client before the move began and the job proceeded with full knowledge and consent of both partiesBecause were were sorry about the misunderstanding we ended up giving discount of $+ $150(one hour of labor) + 10% off the entire jobWe do regret that the client had a negative experience, but we had made every good faith effort to give as much of a discount as possible and we cannot refund money that was fully agreed upon by both parties

client we were very apologetic and were able to remove the $40 Certificate of Insurance Fee and give her a 10% discount overall. She agreed to proceed with the move.As explained before the move went forward, the remaining missing charges were $200 for travel fees, a $90 end of the month fee and $150/hour for the labor. In terms of the requested refund (travel fee, end of the month fee and two hours of labor):- The travel fee covered all of our gas and tolls from New York City to Boston. Travel charges, especially tolls, are often significantly more in a large truck than a car.- The end of the month rush fee is a standard fee that we charge during the last five days of the month (our busy time), and is standard across the board for moving companies. To be clear, both of these fees were explained by the company and agreed upon with the client both in writing and on the phone BEFORE the job began. The client contacted us on the day of the move to discuss the length of the drive. Our drivers make every effort to drive large trucks full of valuable furniture as fast as possible to their destinations while maintaining safety on the road. It was explained numerous times to the client during the drive that our drivers cannot account for traffic, road delays, and that larger trucks filled with cargo must drive more slowly than passenger cars. The entire job (loading, driving, unloading) took 7.5 hours from start to finish, but since the movers had been met with unexpected road delays, we only charged the client for 6.5 hours. So in summary, all charges were explained both in writing and on the phone to the client before the move began and the job proceeded with full knowledge and consent of both parties. Because were were sorry about the misunderstanding we ended up giving discount of $40 + $150(one hour of labor) + 10% off the entire job. We do regret that the client had a negative experience, but we had made every good faith effort to give as much of a discount as possible and we cannot refund money that was fully agreed upon by both parties.
