Our claim against the roof company liability insured by Strickland insurance group has been awaiting payment since July 2013 [redacted] company , website http://www.[redacted].com/ (liability insured by Strickland insurance group) changed our roof in 2011 ([redacted]. A missing kickout flashing leads to water intrusion to the home which was found June 2013. Claim was filed in June 2013 (claim occurence [redacted]). The insurance company sent out 2 inspectors/structural engineer and it was determined it was the contractor's faulty work that lead to the damage. We were told they will pay the claim, but the process has been delayed multiple times. Now it's near 1.5 years since the incident.Desired SettlementPlease pay this claim ASAP according to what you have said. The clock is tickling and my cost in this claim is rising. The cost accrued by your procrastination will be additional liability to you. [redacted] Claims Service is an authorized representative of [redacted] and will respond on its behalf. I can you advise the matter involves claim presented by Mr. [redacted] against our insured. Mr. [redacted] is represented by an attorney who he hired to negotiate his settlement. The matter has not settled but an offer was made and we are waiting to hear back from the attorney for Mr. [redacted]. I trust this information satisfies your needs and we will consider the matter closed. If you need additional information please contact me at the address of phone number listed below. Since then, multiple requests made to you (I have correspondences) to close this matter have failed.3. On Nov 24th 2014, our request failed again, and the attorney threatened yet again to raise the fees due to your lack of response. (documents available upon request) I filed Revdex.com complaint4. On Nov 25th, 2014, you finally responded. Instead of sending the liability release regarding only the kick-out flashing as previously discussed, you want us to sign off liabilities for the entire roof even under the knowledge that the defects in the roof will cost additional $24,000 disclosed by professional roof inspector(you are not even paying the inspection fee of $400-- meaning you do not think any other faulty work by the contractor)5. Our request has always been clear: If you are only paying the damage related to the kick-out flashing, we will sign off all the Kick-out flashing related liabilities. Since it's your standing that there is no other faults in the roof anyway, we don't see why this poses a problem. Stop dragging this to an unending war. 6. Please let me know if you have not received all the requests sent to you regarding this matter, as I would also like to know why it is so difficult to hear a timely response from you.[redacted]Final Business Response December 2, 2014Revdex.com RE: Your File #: [redacted]Complainant: [redacted]Insured: [redacted] Claim Nu.: [redacted]Company: [redacted] Dear Sir or Madam,[redacted] ([redacted]) is in receipt of your inquiry dated November 26, 2014, and received in our office on December 1, 2014 regarding the amended complaint filed by [redacted]. Policy #[redacted] Maintenance ServiceDesired SettlementHonest billing practices if its owed send me a bill or leave me alone and quit threatening to cancel me I pay the premium I was given leave me instated and let me finish my termBusiness Response Strickland Insurance Brokers, Inc. (SIB), a wholly owned subsidiary of Strickland Insurance Group (SIG). SIB is a managing general agent for [redacted] ([redacted]), the insurance company with whom this insured's commercial general liability was placed. The insured was previously insured with [redacted] and that policy had canceled. When his retail agent contacted SIB in regard to a rewrite, the policy was rated as it had been on the previous policy. When the applications came to SIB, we added class(es) of operations to the policy and it generated an additional premium of $97.00. The correct annual premium is $647.00 in lieu of the $550.00 which was quoted and bound. However, as we reviewed the file, we saw that we had the same information on the applications from the previous policy so we should had the information to rate it correctly for the quote of the rewrite. The insured just got a good break on the previous terms. That said, we will be re-rate the policy to reduce the additional premium and if any owed premium is owed, SIB will write it off and the insured owes no more money at this time. The cancellation notice will be rescinded and we are sorry for the inconvenience. Obviously, future changes to the policy will stand on their own merits. Again, the $97.00 will not be owed and we apologize for the way this situation was handled. Should you need anything further please contact us.Consumer Response Anything sent to the agentry should be sent to me I had no idea of anything until I receive a cancelation this should not happen and it's not the first time this has happened if I have a bill it gets paid if not it don't that's the way getting paid works. In future all things need to be sent to me also.Final Business Response SIB is an insurance wholesale broker and represents insurance companies. The insured's retail broker represents the insured. We do not deal with any insured directly except in the case of issuing direct notices of cancellation to the insured, which is required by NC General Statutes. All policy and financial transactions are handled with the retail broker. If the insured wishes to deal directly with an insurance company, then we suggest he contact his retail agent and let it be known that all correspondence from the carrier be forwarded directly to his attention. As under our current procedures we are not able meet his request.
