February 4, 2106This letter is in response to a letter I received regarding a compliant issued # ID [redacted] I would like to respond to this compliant.First, when the initial call came from this client, I was on a vacationSince my business is run from my home, I do not leave a message on my phone that I am out of town due to safety concerns alerting that my home is unattendedI returned the call the day I arrived home from the tripI called that Wednesday and visited the client's home on Saturday to evaluate the problemAt that time I informed client I would repair the problem the following week, weather permittingDue to the inclement weather (temperatures below degrees)I was unable to make the repairIt needed to be above degrees for the roofing materials to adhere to the metal roofingI went on January 30th and made the repair once the temperatures were above degrees so that the repair would holdI did not charge the client even though the leak was caused by a sleeve over the vent pipe tore looseThe leak was not caused by the metal roof installed but the sleeve separating from the pipe which I did not install.I explained to client that I could not repair roof until above degreesIt is understandable that she was concerned but I couldn't repair if the temperature was acceptable to make the repair. As far as the storm door issue, client claimed that she had it repaired by another contractor and reported to me that it was not my fault but it needed wood repaired around it.I have always completed work for this client and she has recommended me to family and friendsI am sorry she felt that I was not prompt with the repairs but you can’t make repairs when the weather doesn’t permitClient not being able to reach me while I was traveling shouldn't be a reason to complainI will be sorry to lose this client after many years of servicing her home inside and out but I am a one-man operation and can't drop everything and fix everything instantly when a call comes in.If you have further concerns or questions regarding this compliant, please feel free to contact meI stand behind my work and my reputation.Earl S
