We appreciate the student’s feedback on their concerns about the registration process, and are disappointed our policies and processes were misinterpreted. We will take this information as part of our continuous review of our business functions. The student registration and course
fees, and the distinction between these separate fees, are provided on the CPA Western School of Business (CPAWSB) website, on the online registration forms, in the student guide and in registration reminder communications, all of which are either accessible or provided to new and existing students. The refund policies are also provided. We make an effort to over-communicate these fees and policies to avoid misunderstandings such as this current one. We cannot opine on whether the student had sufficient study time to complete the course they were registering for, as is suggested by the student, since every student has different learning requirements and study habits. However, the courses are designed to be completed in the time frame the student still had available to them. Also, we had confirmed with the student that they were provided registration reminder communications for two months before they did register and the student’s choice to delay registration and abbreviate their study time was not in our control. Finally, the student’s registration fees are valid through to March 31, 2018. As such, they have two more opportunities to register in their desired course(s) during this period and have the full length of time to complete the course(s). In summary, the student was provided all relevant information via email and via the CPAWSB website before registering for membership and submitting non-refundable fees. The refund policies are provided and upheld fairly and equally for all students
