Revised: BUYER BEWARE: Straight Up Services performed services and issued a NSF check to a laborerThey paid a laborer with a check dated 2-09-18, in the amount of Their check to the laborer was returned by their bank for insufficient fundsThe owner of Straight Up Services was contacted many times over a period of three months, via text, voice message and direct contact, in regard to his hot checkDuring that time the owner made numerous promises to resolve his bad check, but he failed to follow-through on his word time after timeThe law requires a bad check to be resolved within days of when it's returned by the bank, otherwise it's presumed the bad check writer had knowledge of insufficient funds and criminal and/or civil complaints may be filed with the CourtsOver three months has expired in the process of attempting to require the owner resolve his bad checkAfter a period of a couple months, when the owner was contacted about his bad check, rather than apologizing for repeatedly falling down on his word and not resolving his bad check, and resolving it immediately, once he realizes the call is in regard to his hot check, he either immediately hangs up the phone, lies about who he is and/or plays dumb about the hot check or he will go silentTo this day the owner hasn't fulfilled his moral and legal responsibility to resolve his hot checkWARNING: If you are considering risking your hard earned money by doing business with this company, you need to think again! You need to seriously consider this situation and its ramification for you as a customerWhen this company does work for your home or business, if they don't pay their subcontractors or they issue them bad checks, you take a risk of having a lien placed on your property by the subcontractorsThe best predictor of future behavior is past behaviorBased on the owners bad conduct in response to this hot check, there is an above average likelihood you could get the same callous treatment if you hire this company, and have an issue with their work and/or product or if they issue their subcontractors bad checks or don't pay themUltimately the decision is yours who you decide to engage in a contract with, so do your research and choose wisely, you'll sleep better at night! P.SAnd be somewhat skeptical of overly positive reviews, because they are often coerced from customers in exchange for discounts or they are written by the business owner and/or family and friends
