We did replace Mr. [redacted]'s roof after last years storm 2014, everyone including myself which I live about a quarter of the a mile down the street from Mr. [redacted]'s resident.A roof does not prevent ice dams, we installed nine feet of ice and water shield from the drip line up.If Mr....
[redacted] had ice dams that passed the nine feet of ice and water shield, he should of used preventive measures and removed the snow and ice from his roof.A roof is not made to hold ponding water, if he had ice dams, he should of had them removed.Mr. [redacted] had two small box vents, we removed them and installed ridge vent at the highest point and gave him an extra wide opening at the ridge. To this day Mr. [redacted] still has the same ridge vent that I installed and there are no ice dam (note ..2014 was one of the worst winters ever 80 percent of any had ice dams not due to being improperly vented) .The gutters are sealed and tested them for pitch and water flow, also leaks.Gutter do not always get installed under the drip edge do to the pitch of the eves. The flat membrane was left as is and was never uninstalled, we simply installed ht ice and water shield over the membrane and over the decking, then gave it a cosmetic appeal with architectural shingles. The flat membrane was left intact. Never once received a letter, did receive a phone call and sent my foreman there. My foreman said he wanted to talk to me but never called since.I stopped there twice but no one was home because I don't have his number.
