I've waited a month before I left this so I could be sure I was speaking from logic and not anger. My experience with this business was nothing short but disappointing and very offensive. Before moving in to this storage, I asked the owner if I could work from there. He told me no problem. About 6 months go by and then he told me I have to vacate the premises immediately. After arguing with the manager for about 4 hours he tells me I could stay till the end of my month, which I already paid for and then I had to leave. I never violated any terms of my lease. He told me he had his suspicions and that was why I had to leave. He didnt know what but he believed I was up to no good. I am a small business owner who works 18 hrs per day. I just started my business but its my passion. Hence to me 18 hours feels like 8 minutes some days. I explained that to him about my passion and he told me 'I was lying to myself'. I was speechless. I asked him why was my business being single out over the other businesses that worked in their onsite storage. He then got very loud and threatening to me. I defended myself and then he threatened to call the police. I couldn't believe his level of cruelty during this nationwide time of crisis.
To summarize the onsite management is very unethical, unreasonable, and offensive toward their customers.
I am leaving this complaint because my contract or lease I held with Storage Choice was completely violated without proof of cause.
Contact by the Business I was told that I was banded for life from Storage Choice. This is completely unfair because I did no crime or anything else illegal during my time there. I request this lifetime band be lifted because there was never any proof that I violated any clause in my lease.
At Storage Choice, we are concerned about the security and safety of the facility and all of our tenants. Therefore, we do not allow tenants to spend 18 hours per day on our property. We are a storage facility used for storing goods. The lease clearly states that the tenant may not use the space for a business office or a full-time work area. We granted Mr. extended hour access because he had advised us that he occasionally needed to be able to get his generators in and out if was called upon for work. Mr. consistently stayed in his units more than 15-20 hours at a time. We had asked Mr. several times to cease this activity and it continued. We again advised him that we cannot allow this on our property. We hope Mr. is able to find another solution that fits his needs.
