Review: I have a decaying upper molar that is barely holding on and is in need of extraction and I need implants for that one and another lower left molar. Since this kind of service is so expensive, I inquired at StonyBrook Dental School and due to their more reasonable rates, decided to have this service performed there. I waited 2 months for an appointment, went for the consult on July [redacted] & paid the consult fee of $90 and am still waiting for a response or appointment. I have called countless times, no one ever answers. The only response I got after the first 3 or 4 messages left was that they got my messages and that I was not their only patient & that they had to consult with the head doctor (Nunziata) and would be getting back to me. This was 6 weeks after my visit and they still hadn't consulted??? Now I get another bill for a "consult" for $50 and called again & of course had to leave another message to try to get a status update & explanation and left ANOTHER message?!?!
I just sent a letter of complaint to 2 people I found online, listed as Stonybrook Office of Clinical Affairs and Administration Offices (hopefully my cc reached Revdex.com).Desired Settlement: At this point, after 2 months wait for original appointment and now 2 months waiting for a follow up appointment or any kind of call or explanation for lack of contact, I feel a full refund for the consult I paid on July [redacted] and total deletion of questional bill I received from them for $50 for consult (I already paid the originally quoted $90 at time of visit) - I want my money &/or copy of my X-Rays so I can have this work performed at a more efficient, realiable office before I have to have an emergency extraction of my tooth (or wind up with an abcess or infection). I've been more than patient and don't understand how they can possibly explain their lack of consideration or professionalism.
