Very Dishonest!
Has multiple legal judgement against him and does sub-par work. A major materials supplier will no longer sell to him as he hasn't even paid them for the material they delivered on site.
Does sub-par work and is very unethical.
Owner will not return deposit for cancelled contract. Reason for cancelling contract is that Josh owner of Stonewest Concrete did not start on day promised and would not give a start date when asked to provide one. Also, at least three times did not return calls once deposit was submitted.
Revdex.com , ***, and other parties ,
Let me start by saying deposits depending on the project and situation are collected , at least by me , for one reason. That reason is to protect myself and my company from customers or potential customers that have no interest in respecting my time, my money, and my other ongoing projects. *** and I had many in depth and detailed conversations via text, email, and by phone. So *** to say that their was no communication is absurd on all levels. I am a working buisness owner in a field with high demand during this time of year, which means if I have to leave my phone in my truck while I work outside of my truck , just so I can get something done and move on to the next job, then that’s what I do. Once I agree on doing your project and get a signed contract back from ***, then I’m contracted to do his project . But I’m not contracted to answer everyone of their meaningless phone calls about details we had already discussed . When *** had told me he can not do the project anymore , he said it’s because he decided he couldn’t afford it. Not that it’s because I didn’t answer his phone call or didn’t show up on a scheduled date. Which is a false statement by him , I never told him I would be their working on a specific date , but I did say at least 5 times that I would start his house as soon as the job I was on is finished AND as soon as I get the Mini ex needed to do the dig. I have hours and hours of work out into his project that he doesn’t seem to understand. Me taking time out of my schedule on 3 separate occasions and go out to his house take some measurements, figure out if what he wants us even possible, blue stakes, laying out the job , and getting the preconstruction phase of the job completed. Also he offered to let me have $100 for the work I had done to that point, no thank you *** I’ll keep the deposit, if you want me to do your basement walkout I’ll be glad to continue further.
*** wouldn’t enjoy going out and working for free, so *** don’t expect people to work for you for free.
I paid Stonewest Concrete in cash as Josh said he would charge less if I did. He never paid for the concrete he ordered that was delivered and now I have a lien on my property.
he stole the money and never paid for material or finished the job and came and showed me his nice truck and new luxury car he got for his wife.
This complaint by *** is a valid complaint that anyone would be upset about and want taken care of . As I told *** numerous times before, “I will take care of the lien!”
This property has been a nightmare since day one. I had done some retaining walls for ***’s neighbor that like always they showed the true craftsmanship and quality that my crews provide our customers day in and day out. Their beautiful walls . But to be able to provide these beautiful walls the owner of this home also paid what I charged him . 50’ of wall costs about $10k , ***’s budget was $5k for 120 feet of wall. Which is about cost of materials . Also keep in mind I’m subcontracted from *** from a different contractor he had hired, which is
“HOUSEWORKS DBA THE LANDSCAPE COMPANY OWNED BY JEFF W OUT OF DRAPER, UT. “ Unlicensed company so stay away from these guys .
I poured a 3’ wall 100 feet long because Jeff and *** told me that’s what they wanted even though I asked several times if they are sure that’s as tall as they want. Cleaned up the job and left to the next job and the next day I get a call from the landscape company that *** wants it 6’ tall now, problem is we have already poured the wall . Knowing *** was broke I I’d what I thought was a favor to him and poured a 3’ cap on top of the 3’ wall to make it 6 feet. Well after they both talked me into it because I wasn’t going to do it because of obvious structural issues that could arise from this. But they talked me into it and I did it for $700 which was my fault for agreeing to do this in the first place. Long story short the landscape company and Jeff w*** never put a drainage system behind the wall instead the backfilled the day after I poured the wall with muddy dirt causing the wall to crack and eventually tip over. *** should be going and bugging the contractor instead of me
Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because:
Stonewest Concrete is suppose to be the concrete experts. I didn't know the material costs involved. If anything was asked that did not make fiscal or structural sense, the request should have been declined. In no way, did I think the concrete wall would break and fall, nor dive I ever expect for a lien to be put on my house since I paid Josh for the job in full. He never said that the funds would be taken, but the results would be a fallen wall and a lien.
The party making the lien, the concrete supply company, has told me there are at least 4 other residences that have liens on their properties due to Stonewest Concrete never paying for what the supplier delivered. The supplier has mentioned that their lawyers are getting involved. They are one of eight concrete suppliers and it is highly likely that there are more than 4 residences with liens on them due to Josh H.
Josh (Stonewest Concrete) said the lien would be taken care of, and that the job would be finished, but nothing has been actually done in 6 months. 6 months later, I've had to hire other concrete contractors to finish the work and get the courts involved.
Sincerely
paid me 3500 cash for an unrelated project . These are two separate projects. The wall that fell I told the contractor that the 3’ tall wall wasn’t built to be a 6’ tall wall . The contractor then told me that *** won’t pay until the wall is 6’ tall even though they both told me to initially pour the wall 3’ tall . For that job to be done I need to be paid the $6500 I invoiced that hasn’t been paid. If *** or Jeff would have just paid that $6500 the job would be done in regards to the $3500 that was for a different project. That project I decided not to backcharge him for all the extra work my crew did that wasn’t part of the original work scope that I bid. My crew did the work because *** kept changing and adding things and instead of telling me. He decided to tell my crew . Probably to try and get more stuff done for free.
back to the wall that tipped over ... it tipped over because of 2 reasons
1- the contractor backfilled the day after I poured the wall
2- the contractor also didn’t put drainage system in at all
