The HVAC system has no worked since even before we moved in. I mentioned it to the warranty guy, and was treated like a fool for mentioning it. I was then told it was fixed. When we moved in it was cooler in weather so we didn't notice right away, but it wasn't fixed. I let them know. 3 days later we had techs out. 3 days after that they had torn out sheet rock in a brand new house from the ground up to fix it and it still wasn't fixed. Finally 4 days later it was working but not fixed. Now, 2 weeks later we do not have AC upstairs. We were promised some type of compensation, but have not heard a word and are waiting on AC to be fixed upstairs.
Replacement Would like the AC fixed for good and fully warrantied for an additional 2 years. Would like the upgraded thermostats promised when IME first came out. Would like reimbursement for the now 2 weeks of no AC and not being able to move stuff out of storage because sheet rock was torn up and I could not move things in the house.
Thank you for giving Stonehollow Homes the opportunity to respond. We hear what our homeowner is saying and understand his frustration. New homes are built by hand and unfortunately, on occasion, things may break or stop working. We pride ourselves on a quick response where we reached out the same day and had workers in the home the very next day addressing the issue.
The air conditioning repair did take some time to remedy, but we communicated every day, and were able to make the repair by replacing the entire unit at no cost to our buyers. The plumbing leak was repaired the very next day. Our warranty representative even stayed at their home supervising the workers himself so that the homeowner would not have to miss additional days from work.
In line with our warranty book that we hand out at closing and per industry standards, we offer a one year home, 2 year mechanical, and 10 year structural warranty. We make any repairs as quickly as possible and make it right. We do not extend manufacturer warranties or offer any compensation so we will not be able to fulfill this buyer's request outside of our written warranty policy.

I am sure it doesn't matter if we accept the response or not. It is obvious nothing will change. I am out 3 days of work and 2 months of storage for a problem that could and should have been resolved prior to move in when it was first brought to their attention. Stonehollow homes a business. It's about money - not people. Is what it is. Buyer beware.
In summary, Stonehollow Homes cares about every one of our buyers & homeowners. We have done everything in our power to rectify the situation and ensure that the air-conditioning & plumbing are both fully functional. The home will continue to be covered under our 2 year mechanical warranty.
Like other builders & manufacturers, we repair the item, but do not compensate buyers or make reparations in addition to honoring our warranty.
Improper Grading, Standing Water, No Retaining Wall, No Privacy from Privacy Fence, AC/Heat Not Fixed, Breakers Tripping, etc.
There is no retaining wall based on the slope/grade of the property and we have no privacy fence because there is no retaining wall. The dirt is eroding onto the sidewalk and the backyard has water puddle everywhere and remains soaked for long periods of time. We asked the builder numerous times to put in a retaining wall. There are plenty of retaining walls in the neighborhood without the slope/grade we have to our property. We are a raised corner lot.
Our yard is a wind tunnel and everyone can see into the yard. A "privacy fence" is for PRIVACY. We have none. There is no denying this statement. The grading of the property is not correct. There is water sitting in the back yard and mildew/mold is actually on the ground from sitting water. We additionally have addressed this several times with the builder and they brought dirt in for one small area.
I have also spoken with the Van Alstyne City Engineer, the Utilities of Van Alstyne for the water pools, the plumber, the sprinkler folks and none of that is the issue...although the city utility did find the outside spicket on the house to be blocked. . The City Engineer referred me to the owner of Stonehollow. We have lived here 1 month. The AC was not even working upstairs, the unit blows cold air when it comes on for heat. IME has been out 3 times and coming a 4th; the vents are wrong in the living room. The original installer of the units went out of business. The is a comedy of errors and continues to be. Also along with the other complaints, breakers do trip all the time when you plug something in. Bad electrical work as well.
I am seeking the proper grading of our property for drainage, a retaining wall at least 4 ft. high for the steep slope on the side and the privacy fence raised on top of the retaining wall making it a privacy fence.
I never dealt with anyone in Sherman. They are already addressing the matter. Please put this on hold.

I just purchased a brand new home from Stone Hollow Homes in Van Alystne. I cam home on Dec 13th and my downstairs was flooded.
On December 14th I called Chris Cutler/project manager for Stone Hollow in Van Alstyne to let him know the downstairs was flooded. I was told that basically this was my problem and to call insurance.I called my insurance company and they sent out an adjuster. Then someone from restoration and a plumber. The plumber report findings states that the icemake valve was the source of damage. The builder is the one that installed the valve. I called Chris Cutler back and he told me they could not get anyone out to my home until after Christmas. I hve hardwood floors all downstairs and with all the dampness I was afraid of the dmage it was causing and possible mold. I have a senior mother that has health problems and can not afford for her to have lung problems due to mold. Chris was suppose to show up yesterdy with a plumber and I waitied until 12 and had to leave for work. I have had to leave my job several days now due to this incident and the builder seems not to care.It is very dishertening to have a brand new home that has been damaged due to water.
I am wanting my home restored back to the way it was when I purchased it 30 days ago and the vlve properly fixed.
Thank you for reaching out to us for a response.
We are sincerely sorry that the homeowner is dealing with a flooding issue so quickly after closing on their new home.
Our superintendent & warranty manager responded to the call from the homeowner immediately the morning of the flooding. Their elderly mother was present at the time. They determined that the source of the water was the aging refrigerator water line and not the valve which created the flood. The valve was checked & turned off at initial contact and the valve was fully operational. There was very little water present or damage behind the refrigerator or near the valve.
The superintendent later called plumbers out to reevaluate the situation. The plumbers determined that it was not a material defect and that the damage was done by the homeowner's aging refrigerator creating the flooding.
We would also like to note that this home has no wood floors installed; only tile & carpet is present.
Stonehollow Homes advised the homeowner to contact their insurance agency and make a claim. This flooding was not something that falls under our extensive warranty.

I'll agree that the superintendent and the warranty manager did show up the next day, to evaluate the flood damage with my elderly mother that has Dementia and not understanding what's going on. After, an hour I received a phone call from the superintendent stating that the damage was our fault and to file a claim with our insurance company. Chris also advised that he could provide names and numbers to help and he never did. Pre Stone Hollow Homes Limited Warranty Agreement In summary (Section 2. The Limited Warranty Conditions Appendix B. states that Stone Hollow will correct defects in workmanship and materials resulting from failure of the covered property installed by Stone Hollow. Yes, the refrigerator is ours, no its not brand new, whoever the icemaker line is new. We never had an issue with it before with leaks. When has a refrigerator flood an entire home? What if I didn't have an ice maker or hookup the water line? Should I come home to a flooded house? No, action was taken by Stone Hollow. I had to call Chris for the second time after three weeks had past. I was notified that they would not be out until after the first of the year. This is only after my insurance company sent a plumber out stating that the cause of damage was the PEX shut off not an age refrigerator. The PEX was not placed secure in the wall and if something pushed up against it and water will spurt out. This is the cause a damage not the age refrigerator. Chris now is having his plumber come out to look at the damage a whole three weeks later, not on December 14th,15th, or even 17th. I feel like my claim has been blown off the proper steps by Stone Hollow were not taken. If I could rewind time, I would have never ever bought my home from Stone Hollow. Chris is a horrible communicator I don't feel like I should've to go back a forth with him for an hour just to get him to have a Stone Hollow plumber to come out and for Chris to insist on being there... I'm very disappointed with this entire situation. I also have the plumber's report along with pictures.
In summary, Stonehollow Homes is sincerely sorry that our homeowners had a flood in their brand new home.
We have definitively determined that the flooding was caused by their refrigerator and was not due to any material defect. The valve is still 100% functional and did not need to be replaced.
This matter should be referred to the homeowners' home insurance company which is designed for situations like this.
