Review: Stone Age Tile does not stand behind their products nor the work of their sub-contractors. An issue arose with newly installed flooring where the sub-contractor ([redacted]) did not correctly apply the base flooring. Insufficient tile spacing and incorrect cement caused all the floor tiles to become loose, shift, chip and raise; causing a severe tripping hazard. This was brought to the attention of the owner of Stone Age Tile who personally visited the site, acknowledged the problem, and contracted verbally with the homeowner to correct this issue at no cost. A different sub-contractor was scheduled by Stone Age Tile to correct the flawed workmanship and hazards created by [redacted]. However, on the first day of this corrective action work, Stone Age Tile withdrew his agreement with no prior warning and no valid explanation. This left the new sub-contractor stranded with workers on the premises. Furthermore, the tile floor is not fixed and is still a severe tripping hazard. Please contact us for additional details.Desired Settlement: We are demanding the verbal contract be re-instated with the second sub-contractor scheduled to perform the corrective action work. This must include the complete removal of the damaged tile floor and sub-floor. The new floor must include the correct sub floor (installed to manufacturer's specifications) and a new floor. We will not accept re-installation of any materials used on the original floor. This verbal contract was consented to by all parties in December 2013.
