Stock Swap

Review: I called the Stock Swap over a year ago to see if they had customers interested in Country Village china. The owner [redacted] said yes. I took the items to the SS and put them up for consignment. I know that I allowed the days to go by and didn't check in on time. I admitted that to [redacted] today. I told her that I went to the store a few times and [redacted] wasn't there. So it went out of my head. Then I called and there was no response. She told me their policy and I said yes but would you please check into it. She did and returned my call. She told me the items were probably not sold if I didn't get a check and that I needed to pick up the dishes. They went to charity. I asked which charity and she wouldn't tell me.

I said that I understood but that I would like to just call so I can see if I could buy the dishes back. They were my aunts and my sister wanted to sell them and I messed up and was trying to redeem a situation. She wouldn't tell me who the charities are that they donate unsold/uncollected things to. She also said that [redacted] was no longer the owner. When I asked who the owner is she either hung up on me or we were cut off. I sent an email and have received no response.

When I called back twice I was blocked by something.

This behavior is what made me decide to file this report. I have never had a business owner or employee of a store hang up on me. So I am stunned.

I was not rude. I was very intentional about making sure she understood that I owned the situation up to a point. I was just asking for information.

I have never been treated this way. I would think after hearing my story she would have been willing to give me the names of the places or the name of the new owner. I think this is unethical. Now I question if the dishes were sold and there is something not on the up and up.

Now I don't feel comfortable shopping there anymore because if she hung up on me for no reason then she obviously doesn't want my business which is sad because I really liked the place. I have been shopping and consigning there for many years.

I have never reported a business like this but I am now.Desired Settlement: I want to know who the charities are so I can contact them to see if I can find the dishes. I think I have a right to know that information and she should disclose that.
