Review: On 11/02/13 at 7:20 PM, I ordered dinner from Sticky Rice totaling $19.85. Twenty five minutes later (at approximately 7:45 PM), my boyfriend went to go pick up the order (placed under the name "[redacted]"). He paid with a $20 bill. The staff member went back to the kitchen to get the order. Once returned, my boyfriend asked for his change. The staff member replied, "Oh, we round up here". Another staff member overheard and asked, "How much was it? Do you want your money?" The first staff member said it was $0.10 cents. My boyfriend corrected her and said that it was $0.15. Frustrated by the policy and verbal exchange, my boyfriend walked out. Upon his arrival home, I heard the story and called the manager to discuss the issue (at 8:02 PM). The manager, who was rude and abrasive, said that it was a Sticky Rice policy to round up on orders (out of the customer's favor). He claims that this policy is on the menu. It is not on the online menu from which we ordered (http://www.stickyricedc.com/assets/pdf/dc-menu.pdf). The manager hardly let me get a word in. He did not listen, and he did not apologize. I was treated with condescension, abrasive language, and impatience. He would not respond to my question as to whether or not Sticky Rice would round down in my favor if the bill had been $19.15 and I only gave them $19.00. Over time, this policy would obviously add up to larger profits for Sticky Rice and leave the customers slighted. I chose "Bill or Collection Issues" for the complaint type, but this is also a service issue. No customer should be treated in such a manner.Desired Settlement: I would like a full refund of my meal ($19.85), plus the $0.15 cents that I am owed. I would also like an apology from the business.
