Thank you for taking the time to respond. However, you may not be aware that we did submit a signed contract to the employee you referenced, Marc C[redacted], on May 3, for coverage to begin effective May 7 (see copies attached). If this employee acts as the liaison in our area on behalf of your company, then we do have a contract with your company for security services and we were awaiting the statement to pay the premium and monthly services. We trusted that your company would responsibly send that information to us to pay in a timely manner, rather than refusing service because we had not yet paid a bill we never saw. At this point, we no longer want to receive security services from Stewart's Security, as I would not trust that a signed contract would ensure services to our home. As I'm sure you are aware, home security is not a service to be taken lightly, and I am highly disappointed that your company would take so lightly canceling our signed agreement with a 1 day notice.Regards, [redacted]
Mrs. [redacted] may not know all the facts involved in this case; so I will explain my position here, and if she still desires a call, I will call her. Alarm monitoring begins with a contract and a payment of a premium in advance for the coverage period. There was no contract executed, no...
premium paid. There has been no breech of contract, nor termination of a contract. As stated in Doug's notice to the [redacted]s, we decline the opportunity to monitor their alarm. Verbatim: "We respectfully decline the opportunity to monitor and/or service your alarm." This decision was my own, and is based upon Mr. [redacted] being adamant that my employee may not be involved with the programming, codes, or management of his alarm. I cannot honor Mr. [redacted]'s desire in this respect. This employee is the company's designated liaison to the monitoring central station, and is involved with every alarm system setting that we process, and therefore privileged to see every detail of every alarm we monitor. Liaison to the central station is not a position I assign lightly; but this employee is serving his twentieth year of service with the company, and has proven his integrity to be beyond reproach. This business requires a high level of trust, and without trust, a relationship cannot begin. As competitive as the alarm monitoring business is, the [redacted]s could have had, and should have had coverage by the end of the day, May 10. I wish them well; but Stewart will not be involved.
