May 2018, I took my 'Subaru Forester for maintenance and repairsSome basic maintenance, some necessary repairs for drivetrain issuesAfter different estimates depending who I spoke to, and inability to answer direct question, and ridiculous quotes (a $head gasket, of which I needed 2!!), I finally asked for a written detailed estimate before they began the workI got an email attachment with a meaningless list of part numbers without explanations, labor rates, or a total charge--obviously a document meant for the parts department, not for a customerIt took going into the dealership for the 3rd time, to get a comprehensible estimateThis included the service manager insisting that an independent Subaru mechanic's diagnosis was not the problemI asked if his proposed repair would fix my problem, and got assurance that it wouldI agreed to the repairs, and when done I paid the nearly $4,bill and drove away I came back within days (after finally driving the car on the highway) and told them the problem was not fixedAfter another day in their shop, I got an email with an estimate for another $repair, that they "guessed" might fix the problem, with the question "what would you like to do?" I answered I would like the car repaired for free, since I was given assurances it was fixed last timeI was told to return the loaner carI did, and picked up my car with the same problem as before a huge bill Meanwhile, I have been receiving threatening emails from the service manager, asking me why I gave them a bad review I will never step foot in Stewart Subaru again, and will tell anyone willing to listen how dishonest they are

big bold type on each ad piece. As for the questioning by the sales consultant, we are in the business of selling automobiles. In order to establish the needs of a customer, or potential customer, we ask many questions to identify a time frame and a vehicle need. Hopefully this helps with this matter. Review: I was looking into trading in my vehicle (5 passenger) for a (8 passenger) because I have 2 children, both in car seats and am expecting one on the way, therefore, will need a vehicle big enough to fit 3 car seats in. I found a vehicle that I thought would work for me and I was told by salesman (**) that the 2nd row can be folded down to give me access to 3rd row, but that was a lie, I found out a couple days later after I purchased the vehicle and found that jumping the seat to access the 3rd row due to false advertisement. Then I was told it would be a total of $25,000. I go ahead and agree, but as soon as I walk into the building basically they behave like I was obligated to purchase, I saw they showed total of $33,000 and they kept telling me ([redacted]) that I could not turn back and had to sign and I had no choice. I was highly pressured into this purchase and have asked them to trade-in for another that works for me and they agree, but then disagree. They gave me $650.00 for my vehicle (2004 Volkswagon Teoureg) and applied it as a down payment.

On the day of the purchase: We were in there for 4 hours after my husband ([redacted]) said no they said are you serious your car is not worth anything this is the best deal you can get! Purchased on June 1, 2014 from sales guy [redacted] and finance guy ** (Chinese guy) pressured us said we can't turn back anymore its gone too far and that's before [redacted] signed real contract. [redacted] signed other crap thinking our total was going to be $25,000 total max out they agreed. So after they made us switch our old from car to car at the very end the total was $33,000!!!!. But right there they told us too late you have to sign and if you don't like it come back and we'll get you out of it into another one because here in America your never obligated to purchase something u don't want or like that was **'s quote. That's after tax n warranty. The warranty ** pressured us to get too.

Friday (6/6/2014) I called and said I wanted to return it they said ok fine but our used cars are still in Omac and will be back till Monday (6/9/2014). We got a call Tuesday (6/10/2014) by [redacted]. We went yesterday (6/11/2014) and she showed us cars for trade then went inside and they said supervisor said just keep it can't trade, after they had told us we could and it's only been 5 days but had to wait 10 for used cars to be back and after they were they showed us a couple and said nope just take warranty off for lower loan and keep the car Supervisor didn't want to even come out and talk with us and [redacted] said [redacted] is known to pressure people into buying cars he's the worst guy you could've dealt with.Desired Settlement: I want to trade it in for a car that is going to work for us. If they are not willing to work with us and it does not work with them then I would like to either get my car back and I could leave them their Dodge Journey. I would prefer to take my business elsewhere and find the vehicle I am searching for that will meet our needs.

Response:

In regard to the complaint #[redacted] the following information should be noted. The customer picked out the vehicle that would work for them, not the sale consultant. The selling price was $27722 and the trade in amount was $9600 for the VW, not $650. The customer elected to purchase a service contract and GAP insurance, both which can be cancelled at any time reducing the total balance owed on the loan. Of course the customer can trade the vehicle in at any time. Usually this would require a cash commitment from the customer, as the transaction is recent. Our tactics are not "high pressure' and the customer at any time can stop the transaction. We maintain one of the highest customers satisfaction scores in our district and received the 2013 Stellar Care Award from Subaru, which is their greatest honor. I'm sorry Mrs. [redacted] feels she made a bad purchase decision and I would be willing to find a vehicle, down the road, that could meet her needs

better, should the time be right. As noted, they were here for 4 hours and could have purchased a different vehicle or left the property at any time during the process. Thank you for your help in this matter.

[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, you must give us a reason why you are rejecting the response. If no reason is received, your complaint will be closed Administratively Resolved]

Revdex.com,

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

I went yesterday (6/11/2014) again to trade the vehicle with another that works for me and they told me flat out "NO". The supervisor also came out and said he was too busy and was heading out to a meeting and can grant us a conversation to explain why we can't return the car and that there was no such thing as an exchange and that whoever told us we could was wrong, he didn't care to know who we were or what our names were and basically just walked out the door and left us standing there, so unhelpful! and rude! Their customer service has been nothing but unprofessional and unpleasant to work with, my needs are not being met and they don't care to assist me. I do not want it to be too late so they could say to me, it's too late to take the car back! They have not been clear from the beginning, all they wanted was to make a sale! Like I said, we were told the seat folded, it wasn't a car I even wanted in the first place, but thought I could make it work with the seat folding down as one of my top 3 necessities to have. Stewart Subaru has not made this purchase a good experience, it has been by far one of my worst nightmares. I disagree 100%, their tactics were "high pressure"!!! Aside from them telling me I couldn't back down from the purchase and them telling me it was the best I was going to get and basically deal with it!! Just like they are doing now! They are basically telling me, "You have the car, deal with it!" I want to take it back to them and get another, but they are not able to please me because their priority is to sell cars, not to please customers. I owed $9,100 on the car which that didn't go toward my purchase, that was added to the loan. Not the $9,650.00 they are stating was given for my car. Bank told me vehicle is worth $22,000 and car dealership overpriced it at $27,000 to take advantage of us.

I want to trade the car in NOW for another!! Not when it is convenient for the car dealership and when they want. Like I said before, I don't want them to say it's too late and to deal with it!!

Revdex.com Please help with this, as a consumer I am being taken advantage of, it's a recent purchase and I should be able to trade this purchase what I need after being fooled into purchasing the vehicle due to their false advertisement.

Regards,

Response:

Hi [redacted]:

Rude and lazy salepeople here, AVOID THESE JERKS: I stopped by one of their "tent sales" to look at their sporty little 4 doors. I currently drive an Outback, and like the fit, finish and general reliability thus far, and told the salesman that I was looking for an upgrade for my wife in the near future (it was a used STI). After I told him I wasn't buying today (again, just looking for now) HE WOULDN'T EVEN UNLOCK THE CAR SO I COULD LOOK INSIDE. He just told me he, "wouldn't go get the keys if I wasn't buying today". I stopped, stared at him, and made sure I heard him right by asking again... same answer. That's when I threw my hands in the air in disgust and walked away... If this is how they treat potential customers they will be out of business very soon. I will drive another Subaru, but I won't EVER patronize Stewart Subaru. I will be sure to tell EVERYBODY I MEET to avoid them at all costs. Nice job you [redacted].
