Thank you for the opportunity to respond to Ms. [redacted] concerns. Our Service Manager, [redacted] called JE Chevrolet and spoke to [redacted]. Unfortunately, JE Chevrolet found non-original equipment wiring added to the vehicle on an auxiliary port in the dash that was causing the issues. The non-original equipment was wired to the power distribution center causing a short. It was apparent by a wire connector known as a scotch lock or crimp lock that the non-original equipment was added after the vehicle was built. Stevinson Chevrolet has never added aftermarket wiring to the vehicle and we would not perform a repair using a scotch/crimp lock. The only time we saw the vehicle for an electrical concern was on April 3, 2015 when we investigated a battery draw/drain complaint. We found a roof beacon switch left illuminated in the on position causing a draw of 200-225 milliamps. We turned the switch off so the backlighting in the switch would shut off to solve the draw/drain complaint. We have not seen the truck or received any calls about the electrical issue since the repair, and according to the Carfax report, the truck has been to four dealership/service centers since their purchase. Ms. [redacted] has an appointment to meet with Mr. [redacted] and our mechanic Wednesday, April 27 at 10 AM at the dealership to view JE Chevrolet's diagnosis. We will provide an update after the meeting.
