Steve & Sons AutoSE 82nd AvePortland, OR 97086May 23, 2016Re: *** ***We have received the complaint from Ms*** and would like to take the time to respond to this matter *** purchased the RV on May 11, over a year ago and this is the first time
we have heard from her in almost the same amount of time The facts of this purhase are a bit different than she states, perhaps due to the time that has passed At the time *** was looking at this RV she asked if she could have a mechanic do a pre-purchaase inspection We agreed from the start and had no problem with this action *** had a mechanic come in to this lot and spent several hours going over this vehicle From what the mechanic stated to *** she elected to purchase this RV and stated she was planning to live in it in Montana We offered to transfer ownership for her with DMV and she said she would handle all registration and DMV requirements herself Approximately or days after the purchase of the RV she called us with a complaint regarding a transmission issue that was reported by the mechanic She gave us the mechanics number and after a conversation with him we found out that she had Jiffy Lube change the fluid in the transmission and they had overfilled it with transmission fluid This action had caused seal problems Her mechanic stated to us that the fault lies with Jiffy Lube.As far as the Lemon Law, *** is in error That law only applies to new vehicles not used The day return she spoke of does not apply at this dealership It is our decision that we will not be returning any money to *** *** and after a year we will not be offering any warranty *** signed and understood the Federal document and had her mechanic check the vehicle before purchase, test drive and made the decision to purchase It is our hope that this puts and end to this complaintThank you,Steve E*** (Owner)
